Just a little reminder:
"Quick Play" should be a non competitive queue... just like any "quick play" in the other games I play.
So it's not that "foolish" that QP is not the place where you look at your stats and try hard. But enjoy foolish build and experience different game play.
Problem being that other queues are dead... so it's soup in many ways.

Yes indeed, I agree QP is not comp type arena
I myself am a casual player

My disagreement with the OP is that reducing Tiers to 3 allows the pro's and self proclaimed I was in T1's to better club I wanna have fun casuals.

Which cannot be good for the games longevity.

I say this not for myself as I'm doing about the same as before when I was T1 then and now.

I'm ranked 119 something this month without playing different, normally I rank in the 500's.
Edit: OK I maybe play more angry!!!!!
This tells me that the player numbers have reduced some what. This is what I'm worried about.

And imo the OP's idea would make this reduction in player numbers worse. imo

I am still the same rank as last month. I doubt that numbers have gone lower that much. Also I haven't played the event and only yesterday joined again. Maybe others did the same?

I started to play again after stopping for about 2 years, the first thing I noticed is that even with the leaderboards the number of people playing more than 10 games in any month going back the two years that leaderboards were a thing has dropped from around 30K to 15K.

The game is dying because of population size which is due to the fact the game has not had a proper update in ages.
That it has taken so long to do the obvious is actually symptomatic of the problems

I was thinking since dumb ideas don't seem to be working maybe they should try smart ideas instead.
