Are they actually attacking their teammates? If not, then I don't see the problem.

Passive background-lurmers are much worse.

That depends really. If it's breaking from the group to get a fringe capture point, yes.

If it's just capping as the team caps, maybe it should be given more credit for possibly taking the heat.

A single ams will easily eat a lrm 5 and even more so if it's been stacked with mech quirks and the ams damage nodes. I don't even bother with the lrm5 any more unless i'm using a lot of launchers or a mech with an odd m slot like the shawk's head or ct launcher.

A lot of lights have range or cool down missile quirks like the jenner d's 15% cd. With all the nerfs that mech has been beaten with a lrm 10/sml pest is the best option for it.

LRM5 is actually more likely to survive AMS than any other launcher as they have more hit points than the larger launchers do per missile. Also, if you are smart about it then launch at the same time others are firing to minimise hits more.
If you wan't to try yourself to check then get a buddy into a lobby with you to test or run a few matches in a mech with large launchers & then a few with small launchers but the same amount of total tubes on the same mech to compare results.

I know that this wasn't the intention of the OP's complaint, but damn if this didn't make me a little nostalgic. Back when we actually had groups, running a theme night of odd builds it was a blast. Now, alas, a four man running whatever just doesn't inspire the the same visceral reaction. Its just so...meh, now.

Next best thing I saw was a group of 4 K9 in a match. Was hillariouse how they tried to direct people by standing in lines to block pathes while waveing their tiny arms to move people forward.

"next" best thing? it's -the- best thing, thanks to lights&sirens, which ofc you press ALL THE TIME :)
only 2 things better in this game:

-drop 4 K9 into scouting.
-drop x K9 into Faction and fill up will as many other Urbies as you can get.

some of the most fun matches I had involved a wave of Urbies. or 2. ;)
