It's fairly obvious stuff like this would happen at some point in time, but I just wanted to let you guys (and hopefully the Devs) know there is some fraud concerning beta keygens going on, in case you hadn't noticed.
Usually there's always scammy sites which automatically generate these things to show up in your google, but this one is a bit more ... public.

It seems to be based on YT videos, giving viewers a Mediafire link that inlcudes a readme and some sort of "MWO Keygen.exe". The readme prompts you to download a passwort for said .exe, requiring you to complete a survey which ends up in some sort of wierd mobile phone contract thingy where they'll ripp you off.

I'm hoping no one is stupid enough to really do this (I only did under "experimental" circumstances), but I thought I'd mention it so hopefully no one troubles his mobile phone account or whatever ...

I'm not going to directly link it in here, but searching for "MWO Keygen" or similar should be enough.

The original is five days old I think, but it has been copied a few times and gets going more and more.
I hadn't read about it anywhere here, although I'm fairly active concerning reading, if this is old shoes I'm sorry.

I have reported such similar thing not long ago
and I got a message from person in charge.

Thats all nothing but a cheap trick to plant a virus or obtain your personal information.
There is no security leak at all within PGI

They actually try to hook you with a mobile phone contract, just like that "jamba" and the similar **** you could see on MTV's commercial break.

Yep. Definite, total and utter fraud people.

There is no "secret beta entry", only people happy to take advantage of your desperation by infecting your computer and jacking you for everything they can get.

loll at the key gen .exe... I'm pretty sure it's the dev who unlock your account to get access to the beta anyway

I got an email from a Nigerian prince letting me know that he had inherited a number of beta keys from a dead uncle... and all I had to do to obtain one was email him my name and social security number, along with my bank account info for verification purposes and he would send out a beta key "with the utmost quick importance"

I was skeptical at first but how many Nigerian princes can there be, right? so it's probably pretty legit. Can't wait!

Also good job to the Youtube staff .. myself and others have reported this video for what it is being a fake/scam and they still refuse to do anything about it.

Which goes to show that all though there are functions to report videos on youtube there staff does nothing about the ones that are reported on.

Forget about the scam side of it, I wouldn't go clicking links, let alone downloading some unknown .exe file from a random, off a youtube video page.

"If you're not willing to risk your money to get into beta early, then you're not a real fan of MechWarrior."

Wasn't that the general consensus among half of the Founders just last week?

Duh!

Of COURSE it is a scam .... "beta key generator" what kind of stupid person would think anyone from the MWO fanbase would fall for that!

We ALL know that the only way to generate keys is to physically assault the server.
