Well, except that by canon, the "solid shot" ammo for the LBX is supposed to be just that...a single, solid slug. You know, like what the IS has for ACs.

And, if the engine can handle it, then I guess the shortcoming is on the people coding the game. The engine may be able to handle it, but PGI can't.

if were invoking canon then all standard and ultra autocannons should be burst fire. im not against single shot lbx, but you would have to gimp it in other ways to balance it.

Fair enough, but I'm still a little confused about how "solid shot" per the description could be considered burst fire, but whatever.

By canon, ACs come in multiple flavors based on not allowing the enemy to capture and use your ammo. Kind of like what we've got going on with modern weaponry today. It's a pretty basic premise. In the novels, AC20s have been described as having one huge shell or vomiting a swarm of smaller ones. It's all about the damage output.

That's one of the reasons I don't have a problem with what we've got going on with IS vs Clan UACs. But, damn, you'd think they'd at least be able to recode the IS AC mechanic for the LBX "placeholder."

I have a great time rolling with my [S] Centurions running vanilla 3XLR15 in-between matches, to make C-bills. I fell into using the builds by accident and they quickly required me to grab direct fire and my damage score went up. By playing the Cents I had to totally adjust my LRM style and the matches were much crazier and fun. I still have some tricked out Catapults but I almost never run them any more.

The Blob of 45 IS LRMs is so much more satisfying than my old clan missile boats as well, not to mention lights tend to avoid the Cents out of reflex.

Tube for tube IS LRM are better then clan but clan win on damage per ton so it's balanced but 45 IS lrm's is golden 3x15. You can chain fire when you need to do damage over time or in a group of 45 when you only have small windows to hit. A of lot time when you group fire you can hit a target even if you get a short lock if you are at the golden range 400 300 just get them of or if yea have LOS just fire with no lock.

It's a combination of both. Cryengine is a really old engine that's been lacking sufficient support from Crytek for some time, and unfortunately the game's code is such a massive mess of spaghetti-code that PGI's programmers have a hard time adding new stuff in.

PGI's coding team, IIRC has nobody from the original team that made the code in the first place.

Ironically, this makes MWO itself lostech. However, I will also point to them being incapable of making MW5 use ammo switching as well for my opinion on grasping something so fundamental, even Russian Gaijinware like War Thunder can easily manage it.

Or, y'know. That Unreal engine Epic uses. Y'know, the people who got the MW5 exclusive. Maybe they should work something out.

Or they could make like Star Citizen and switch over to Amazon Lumberyard, which was based on the Cryengine but actually has support.

Make a deal with Chris Roberts for a Star Citizen Total conversion license and bring Battle tech universe to life.
Imagine FW, your drop ship actually has to fly to the drop zone from another planet/system!!!!!!.

Chris can make some money and Russ makes Mech Citizen Online
Ships, mechs, ground vehicles and infantry/power armour

Drool, Pipe dreams I know.
