Recently started playing again. I mostly play lights and I've noticed some weird behavior with streaks where sometimes they only seem to target the torso. Only 1, maybe two components get hit by all the missiles, other components are completely undamaged. On a light this usually means getting cored so obviously it's an issue. While I don't make a habit of getting hit by streaks it's frustrating to get instakilled from full because I had los with a arctic wolf for 2 seconds.
This happens from multiple angles and even on locusts so it's not like big awkward CT hitboxes are absorbing all the missiles. Mostly seems to happen with clan SSRMs (although those just may be more common). It happens fairly often, maybe 1 in 4 or 5 times. I suspect netcode or moving are factors as I'm unable to replicate it at all in testing grounds offline. I think I'll take a streakboat out and see if I can't replicate it in the wild.
I know a few people who've observed the same thing but I was wondering if anyone noticed any other patterns on when it seems to happen.

Streaks were changed to hit CT more often around th time they changed lrm. There was a bug with one mech were streaks would only hit CT they fixed so it could happen. What mech are you having issues with?

Streaks fly to all components in a line. If there is something else in the way, such as 1) if you are torso twisted, one side of your mech will take more damage, or 2) the streaks from shot from above you, your torsos will block missiles to your legs.
If you are tagged, more missiles will head to your torso and fewer to arms and legs.

This is the 2018 targeting change being referenced.
Most players, as I'm sure you know, won't run Streaks unless they max out hardpoints and pack size — that's a lot of missiles in the air at once. I drop in a Griffin with Streaks regularly, and almost every time I've "cored" a light 'Mech, the player had rear CT exposed and sometimes even open. Otherwise, Streaks will just grind lights fast, limbs or otherwise.

I didn't know about the changes to streak targeting. Gonna mess around a little more but I figure that explains most of it.
