Which doesn't invalidate preceding license agreements and doesn't mean it's free to redistribute in modified form...

Just migrate mwo to mw5. Do a mw5online. There is no reason to let this old engine live. Migrate all user data, skins, mechs etc. You will have a new userbase (the mw5 on epic and steam). Adjust the prices and you can have decent restart. All i want is to keep my WHK(G)

I think MWO2 based on UE engine is being worked on. If this was not true, and PGI was giving up on the BT franchise, they would not have renewed for 5 years their BT license and rehired a community manager. From those points I am 100% sure the next game was committed to internally, maybe even started, but it would take one year before we start getting teasers and first release in 2-3 years.

That been said, don't expect your MWO purchases to carry over. They need to pay for the new game development somehow.
