Were there always such a huge pile of rocks at G6 in River City? My Marauder II at speed 52.6kph cannot climb over 4 of them.

That would be actually hilarious if, given everything that needs to be worked on in the game, PGI used resources to do a stealth-addition of some random rocks XD XD XD The drug policy at PGI would need to be more stringently enforced.
OP, I suspect you are experiencing symptoms of probably running a slower mech than you are used to, which requires being more careful about picking your lines.

the game would be better off without the ground clutter.

Hmm could it be the combination of slower 'Mech plus the lower position of approach making you take notice of those things? They don't look new to me.

Is it just me, or could it be an Anti-Nascar Measure that was implemented by PGI on River City @ G6 in an attempt to satisfy those who are sick of the game devolving to 100% Nascar in every single Match being launched? Essentially, those rocks are something that would interrupt & punish the movement of a Team that went Nascar-ing around the Citadel section. Intended or not, at least it adds some flavor to the map, right?

The slower your mech and lower the acceleration, the more rocks you can't cross. It's not a mystery...

Some ones still developing the game
Just not telling Russ and Paul about it.
Or a dev died in that spot during a game and this is retaliation with plausible deniability. We iz maintenance mode dude!

Who dafuq notices those? Apparently there's also a treatment plant in Canyon Network.
