Yeah, that doesn't work as well (
at least, when I last checked it really the hard way) as you think it does. I discovered the sell-back values (
again, as of when I checked, and PGI has likely made the curve more nasty since then) are actually lower than a 50% return, even with all the original equipment on the Mech being sold back. Not having a bunch of it there causes the value of the Mech being sold back to drop off dramatically, resulting in what a person strips off being effectively more like only 30% less (
or worse... going more in the direction of normal price) than the base prices for the items. So it's much better to wait for a PGI-officiated Sale in order to get the desired price on the various equipment, regardless of the convolution level.

We have actually had a Drop Deck Sale before. As it was an extremely rare thing, I forget exactly when, but I know it has happened. You'll need to go back through the News Page's history of past things in order to find it. If I manage to track it down first, then I will either edit this post or make a follow-up post about it.
