Well, looks like we're on track to getting a short list of ideas by the end of the year and an update sometime in 2021? Set expectations low people.

so i listend to it at 2x speed and i was tired and on drugs and i included snarky but accurate comments.

complaining about having to get up and working (canadian work ethic, lol)
reinstalled the game (you have a podcast about a game you dont play?)
there will be more communication. (in long *** podcasts no doubt)
there is too much forum to read
it was a positive meeting and we have a document (if they spent more time on dev than bureaucracy maybe they would get things done)
too much things to read
make it living legends! (yea right)
map overhaul! (in other words no new map)
npe, faction play, solaris, rescale
game modes (skirmish all)
we conditioned the community (no wonder people leave)
encouraging community interaction (im starting to doubt that beard actually read the forums)
mw5 dlc is happening first. (like nobody saw that comming)
they want to do right by the community (keyword do)
fbomb
monetization, updating store, ui changes, new model, store optimization, more packs
new skins
cockpit items and boltons (does anyone actually want more of those?)
mwo on ue5 (wasnt this on the never happen list?)
would be a reduced game, take years and millions
upgrading ce is also possible
they are under ms's thumb
so much potential (the type of energy that causes things to collapse)
his brain is full.
talking about vacation (where i come from that usually comes after years of work and is disapointing)
round table (no corners allowed)
how to reach the silent majority of players (people who dont forumwarrior)
marketing (isnt it a little late?)
nothing before the holidays (it was more a maybe but maybe usually means no at pgi)
community driven maps (dream on)
more like you vote for what gets fixed
no community made maps
it will take them weeks just to decide what to do
beard is well bathed and full of coffee.
more discussion (i didnt know the filibuster was a tool used for improving a mech game)
give me money!

Sad you did not announce the Podcast with the Lord Commander...maybe MWO should do sort of a DFA Show too?

It was a little to much yelling and way outside EU primetime (like 3 at the clock in the morning) but still funny.
And maybe you could invite some of the old DFA people and take revenge for the Steamrolling of the High Prophet.
I had the feeling, watching the record, that they were so experienced in playing together like a Clockwork Orange that they sort of became a mob biting outsiders away that inconvenienced them.

But yeah - what about a MWO DFA Show?

Many thanks for everyone's podcast transcription!

Whilst it is nice for MWO to try communicating with its fanbase, I for one would refrain from listening to the 1-2 hour podcasts due to time constraints.

Perhaps MWO can supply the podcast's transcription in written form would be much appreciated!

Yeah I'm calling it, there's no interest shown here in a two way conversation with the community. It's the old same $%^&, different day attitude we've come to know and love from PGI.

Thanks to LordNothing for the transcript

Too much forum to read? All this guy has to do is sit down, take a piece of paper, pencil and wrote some things from topics about changes, patches in MWO, like gather at least half of propositions and add some own ideas. I see three sections:

1. Minor changes (HUD, options) that can be implemented without any doubts. Cosmetics.

2. Small changes and small new features which should be implemented but some players may not like them (field to discuss some things with the community).

3. Big changes (you all know, you all red) (field to discuss some things with the community).

4. New features, new content (field to discuss some things with the community).

Reminder: In normal world we start from first point of plan.

Now, some heroic people here found time to do a transcripts from podcasts FOR FREE.

It's really a funny psychological ding-dong.

In my world people are judged by their deeds not by their words.

Gargantuan task?

Old player that has suddenly decided to peek my head back in after a few years break from the game. And with all the sudden interest back into the game has drawn my attention and seeing these podcast suddenly show back up in my youtube feed means somebody's algorithm thinks something is happening.

Here is my opinions after listening to the podcast:
1) Sounds like the license got an extension and you are wanting to look into if there is enough interest to develop the game in the next iteration.

I think there is, but there is a lot old bad blood with players with long memories (I still remember the IGP days and the disappointments of that time period). And with the issues of the way faction play has ended up over multiple iterations among other complaints. There is certainly a lot of old grudges that are still around, but with a little bit of hard work on your side I think you can win back people who were burned by promises, or burned out/bored of how stale the game has become.

2)First off, the game needs an engine update, cryengine is dead and you need to upgrade to Unreal4. As much as I loved the game for years (flaws and all), the optimization of this game is dogshit. Lets be honest, its not worth continuing the development of this game in cryengine, its not worth trying to maintain it for another 10-12 years. How long did you try (for years) to get Inverse Kinetics to work correctly? How long has Hit Detection/Hit Scanning been an issue? Their is a lot of duct taped parts of the game. Remember the Tower of Mechs?
Not saying U4 is going to fix everything, but you are much more likely to find people who can work with unreal than you will with cryengine.

3) Monetization options: There has been SO MANY ways you guys could have monetized things that people would be willing to pay for and you never did.
=AI mech system voices. being able to buy different AI voices for mechs would be an easy way to give people something to pay for that wont affect anything other than their personal experience. Want a sexy lady giving you ARA ARA noises? that should be an option. Want some dulcet tones of some burly man piping into your ears telling you warnings? that should be an option. Dont make it an individual purchase per mech, you buy a voice pack, that should be available to all your mechs.
=Bolt-Ons are a good idea that was only partially fulfilled. The second something takes a target laser it falls off. Keep it on but have them break/damage as the body part takes damage.
=Season passes - This can kind of go hand in hand with bolt ons. Playing games like Fallout 76 (yes, its a game with a lot of issues, but hear me out here). Every 3 months there is a new season for players to progress. They complete daily challenges that awards points that unlocks 'levels', and as levels are unlocked season themed equipment is rewarded to the player for doing what they should be doing. Every day there are different missions that can be done in a way for MWO to work. Things like deal X damage with particular types of weapons. if you want to add extra monetization have a free level of rewards like 1 set of bolt-ons and paints and such, but for like $10 bucks for the 'upgraded' season pass you get double the reward sets. Take a look how FO76 fixed issues from season 1 going into season 2. Have each new season of MWO be themed around an idea. Maybe one season the rewards are based around factions, and then the next season be based around special events. Hell, maybe do a season based around the Battle Tech cartoon as in game propaganda. Things like posters or action figures in your cockpit.
=You mentioned this in the podcast but you seriously dropped the ball on the idea, allowed mechs to be upgraded to HERO mechs, but not only that, when someone makes a "HERO" mech allow the player to give it a special name. And add a tab in the shop to browse different players custom configured mechs, and let players "rent" the mech for cbills for matches that will actually go to the player who created the custom hero. And also add an option for players to 'buy' all the things needed to recreate the mech, but keep the custom moniker in parenthesis so that other players can see who designed that mech variant.

4) The game needs more mechs, So many fan favorite mechs aren't in the game. I posted about this years ago, but get the damn Crusader in this game or I wouldn't spend any more money on this game. I made the comment sometime after the Novacat released (which was the last mech pack I bought looking through my mech collections) and I havent found a single mech since the release of the nova cat that I would spend any money on. I want the Crusader, and I will continue to not spend any money on this game until it makes it in. I like to play heavy and assault mechs, and after the KGC and AS7, the Crusader is my next favorite mech. I have 6 Atlus mechs, 6 King Crabs (I am still butthurt you never released a KGC-001 hero mech, it legitimately boils my blood that we have had how many years of Tukkayid, and you never released the 'Clanbuster'), 4 Stalkers, 8 Marauder 2c, 6 roughnecks, 5 catapults, among many others. I like mechs with certain playstyles and a lot of options for customization. I like running unconventional loadouts. (I am also waiting for the Viking to make its way into the game too).

5) while we are still spitballing and wishlisting, there are still a lot of weapons (like plasma) not in the game. And we still never got the LB10X the option to switch between slug and buckshot and its been how many years that we have been begging for this? We also need more Ammo and missile types. we have so many ammo types in game that can drastically affect the way weapons and mech can perform in situations. Weapon systems need updates and options.

6) MELEE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE ADD MELEE TO THE GAME. I dont care if its just headbutting, kicking, punching with flailing arms, whatever. And that will allow for MELEE oriented mechs like Hatchetman to finally make it to the game. There are a lot of mechs that rely on melee, and melee should be an option to still contribute to the team when you run out of ammo. Bring back knock down too. if people cant handle getting knocked down and having the enemy T-Pose to assert dominance, they can always eject.

PS.
Keep creating original mechs too. I really love the Roughneck. I love its industrial first design, and just how good it comes together as a mech.Especially the RGH-R with 4 LL is one of my most used mechs. I would love to use it in melee. I like have silly thoughts of a Yellow painted Roughneck get into melee with an Annihilator done up to look like a Xenomorph queen. I really like the mech and I would like to see more original mechs like it (particularly in the assault weight range). and while I didnt by a Sun Spider, I really like what you did in the design and concept for that mech. I want to see what you guys are capable of doing on that front. Your mech designs and redesigns look fantastic and I would like to see you modernize more mech designs.

I like how you are saying that you have not bought a 'Mech since Autumn 2017 ("Novacat (which was the last mech pack I bought looking through my mech collections) and I havent found a single mech since the release of the nova cat that I would spend any money on.") ....

... then you continue with your pledge that you are not going to spend a dime on MWO in the foreseeable future ("get the damn Crusader in this game or I wouldn't spend any more money on this game.. I want the Crusader, and I will continue to not spend any money on this game until it makes it in.") ....

... and then you write a dozen of paragraphs describing all those new features you want to see in the game.

Do not you think that PGI needs some source of income such as the cash paid by the players to keep the lights on? Somebody has to pay the rent for PGI's offices, pay the wages of PGI's employees, hire new employees who would work on all those new features that you request, buy new computers, pay for the game servers, etc.

I guess that for example moving the game from one game engine to another is neither cheap nor easy.

1. Wow, great ideas!!

2. Actually KGC-001 (Standard Variant) is now available for C-Bills!

Unfortunately the KGC-001(S) was only available for a short period of time, when you pre-order MW5.
This was similar to the Hero variant that you were looking for.

Hopefully there would be a Loyalty Mech version of KGC-001 in the future!

They literally asked for monetization ideas...mechs have been their primary source of income. And they havent released a new mech in nearly 2 years. They havent finished the Unseen. Hell, even Sean in the 204 podcast namedropped the Crusader to get the mech into the game. They are asking the players what they want in the 4 1/2 years left in this games license.

I want mechs, I want the weapons that should be in the game like plasma, x-lasers and ammo like AP ammo. I have probably spent well over a grand in this games history. Notice my profile, legendary founder. notice my mechs? Whole clan collection 1 and 2. I have dozens of mech packs that I bought afterwards. I was spending lots of money and had no problem spending lots of money on this game for mechs that I wanted. I bought the top end Roughneck and Nova Cat packs as the last new packs I was willing to spend money. I dont remember anyone on the forums asking for the dervish (especially without melee in this game). I dont remember people asking for vapor eagle. But I sure as hell remember people asking for mechs like Hatchetman. I remember people asking for the Crusader. I remember people asking for the axman, cerberus among many others.

You want people spending on mechs? I want mechs I care about. Quads like the Fire Scorpion and Goliath has been begged for almost a damn decade and they have told us for a decade they refuse to do quads, which removes a whole type of mechs from the game. They have told us they refused to do melee because they dont want it looking weird and there was issues with knockdowns. So that removes A LOT OF ******* MECHS THAT USED MELEE. People have been demanding for Death From Above attacks since the beta's. They have refused to even do anything like that.

They have now stated everything should be on the table and that they are listening (something that should have been done almost a decade ago). I want mechs. I want melee. I want weapons and ammo types that should be in the game. I want to hero my custom mechs. I want to see quad mechs in the game. Hell I would like to see LAM's inevitably in this game mode too.

I would buy on the first day Crusader. I would buy on first day a Hatchetman pack. I would buy a Goliath pack. I would buy voice packs for my damn mechs if they were an option. They want my money, this is how you get my damn money. There are a number of mech games on the horizon like M.A.S.S. Builder, Galahad 3093. I want reasons to keep playing MWO instead of jumping to those games. Because when PGI stopped development of MWO in 2019 to work on MW5 and with the license potentially ending, it was clear they stopped caring about the game. Now that they have an extension for about 4 more years to keep operating the game, I need reasons to keep playing this game. Sunk Cost fallacy will only carry my attention so far. I want things that will keep me interested in this game. because playing the game in its current state in for 4 more years is not worth investing in. Clan warfare is still unfinished. The PVE elements are unpolished and could definitely be expanded upon now that MW5 is out of the way. you cant even really do group drops anymore in this game.

PGI wants my money? I want PGI to actually give a **** about the game and deliver on promises half delivered, mechanics half accomplished, and weapons and mechs that have been begged for all these years.
