Going to keep this short with little preamble

Right now there is very little reason to keep playing any particular mech once you have maximised skill, after talking with some friends we had an idea on what could be done to reward players for sticking with a mech beyond capped skill.

1. Once a mech is at 91 skill points allocated they become lvl1
2. Every 10,000 exp earned/spent on the mech will progress the mech to the next level
3. At lvl 25, 50, 75, and 100 you will get a flare next to your mech ID when joining a match
4. 100 is the mastery level, no more exp can be earned or spent on this mech once it has been mastered
5. Every individual level 2,3,4,5, etc. will earn a common item cache
6. Every 5th level 5,10,15,20, etc. will also earn an uncommon item cache
7. Every 10th level 10,20,30 etc. will also earn a rare item cache
8. Every 25th level will earn a legendary item cache

To compliment this change I also have ideas to update the item caches
1. Categorize every item in the game into common/uncommon/rare/legendary
2. Each cache is guaranteed to have at least 1 item of the corresponding rarity
3. Each cache has a low chance to give a single item of a higher rarity
4. Weapons/equipment will have a rarity based on cbill cost
5. Decals and cockpit items will have a base rarity of uncommon
6. Colors and camouflages will be added with a base rarity of rare
7. Mechs(without a mechbay) and mechbays will be added to the legendary tier
8. If you are awarded a mech you already own or do not have room for you will receive a large amount of Cbills or exp for the mech.
9. Cbills, MCR, and Premium time should also be added to caches
10. Allow players to purchase caches with MCR

How does this promote additional mechbays sales? Answer: It doesn't.

It encourages people to have additional mech bays, and to purchase premium time or loot boxes to obtain more things

Also I think people will like to show, I’m not just an atlas player, I am a lvl 100 atlas player.

Yeah nah. More loot boxes? No thanks.

Heaps of reasons to play mechs once skilled up. Mostly, because it's fun. Kind of the reason the play the game at all. Caches are just to collect SRM2+ARTEMIS.

Or.....after maxing out the skill tree, every point of XP goes straight to GXP. People don't mind buying mechs they can immediately skill out with GXP.

I'd rather see a "prestige for SP" set-up.

Once you reach your maximum SP (initially 91) you can hit "Prestige", you mechs XP is rest to zero and return to 0SP (no refunds for invested CBills/XP) but your max SP increases by +1.

There are 10 levels of prestige:
Levels 1-9 give the mech +1 maximum SP (maximum cap of 100SP)
Level 10 gives the mech a +30% CBill bonus

All prestige levels can be applied in the form of quirks.

Honestly, if we just got rid of the skill system, the game would be alot more fun, and less complicated for new players. There are already systems within systems in mwo. Why not simplify by trimming the fat?

You know what would be a neat mech to have?
A stilletto with full guardian ecm, missile jammers and optical camo. True stealth. It would make games pretty hairy.
