Since a few of the proposed ideas have been another re-scale and a possible arm armor reversion to the Jenners I made up my own event-challenge using the mech. I decided that the goal would be simple. Do as much damage as possible and maybe get a kill or few. To make it a challenge besides that of using the worst light mech in the game here's the few self imposed rules I used.

1. No clan jenners.
2. No Oxide.
3. No strikes but uav ok.
4. Must be IS Jenners.
5. XL only engine no lfe or std.
6. Can re-do skill tree to 'optimize' builds.

As I expected the mech sucked to play and use. I died a lot. Some games I ended up with low damage or no kills carried by a trigger happy team. Other games I got a one-two kills then died horribly. Turns out you can be overly aggressive when you play lcts and develop bad habits. I died pretty bad when I tried to run through and uav the enemy.

Switched up to using hit and a lot of running. Jenner is still a big as s target no matter if you have max xl and full speed tweek you'll get hit a lot. I found the builds that worked most for me were the pulse laser ones. Constantly switched or mixed between spl and mpls. Keeping mobile with it is a must so I usually had a bare minimal two jump jets.

I missed my locusts a lot during the time in the Jenner since they are so much more better due to things like their smaller size and faster mobility. The jump jets did help some with positioning but I mostly used them to pad leg damage from high ground to low ground. Skill tree wise I ran pretty much 30-40 points into fire power, 20-22 to mobility for speed and kinetic burst, and a few points into sensors for adv zoom.

A few screen grabs with medicore results except one match where I finally did an assault's worth of damage. If I had to rank the Jenners as is now excluding Oxide: tier six trash at best;even trial mechs can do better.

Good on you! I have a JR7-D that I used to play off and on a year or so ago but the meta tightened up and it's just too iffy to play more than once in a blue moon.

Why would you try to run through and UAV the enemy even in a Locust?

Because a lot of player in qp are cowards or lrm/atm heavy that won't do a thing without a lock. I had a lot of matches the past few days where I've had to flat out curss team mates how to lrm/atm with an active uav directing them to aim and fire upon the enemy ecm mechs to get rid of it. I also ran er mls, a ll sml build and then gave up for an hour or two making an xl 200 lrm 5x2 with tag only build on the jenner due to the timidy of players.

As the day wore on and more us players started playing teams became a lot more direct fire oriented with a few ecm spl builds with or without stealth like the ever common fle or com srm 4/6. That black square in the screen shot is jst my poor ps skill covering up white space. My lowest damage was 87 with one kill using er smls that i didn't bother to screen grab. Instant wipes or mates where I did less than 100 dmg I skiped.

A few times the Jenner felt like the mech of old before the years' of nerfs and was fun to play but now it's so sub par pgi could give it the sole exception of 150 active nodes for most of mobility and full fire power and survival tree and it would still suck.

I mean, I get that...but there's no need to "an hero" yourself through a firing line to pop a UAV. Choose a sneakier route or wait a sec for a better opportunity to do it without being seen.

In a NON ECM Mech I will not run through them, but will take a safe route to try to get behind them or at least to the side and launch one. Even at top speed its still easy enough to be one shot in a locust.

I spend most of my time in my Flea's. Jenners are just no where near as maneuverable as they should be. I am specced with survival, Mobility and some firepower, but the mobility aspect of it is just not enough. I can not stay behind even an Anni which to me is ridiculous. I have given up on the SPL builds of all the jenners, they are useless with how big they are.

MPL's are a tad hot for it. I still like the ML's and SRM's for the D. The 35 ton mechs just can't hold a candle to the lower ton mechs. Even the Wolfhoud is out preformed by the locust and the Flea. Don't get me wrong I think both the Locust and Flea are right where they should be, but the 35 tonners are just screwed.

Reading is too hard. Some one found the spread sheet: https://mwomercs.com...pdate-daeron-02

Also: Armor Balance for Arm Weapon-Only 'Mechs (Jenner, Jagermech, Rifleman)
Rescale 'Mechs (for fun and role vs volumetric)
Fix Mech Mobility (Desync)

And where is your jenner screen caps/videos? Get outa my thread if you ain't a light pilot.

Looks like some fun matches. You had people on coms and working as a team. That's pretty rare for when I play. Jump jets still work more as rock hoppers on mining. I'll have to play some more when I get time. Day off is usually spent on home stuff and mwo for after work.

You should know by now that just because someone posts that it is on management’s radar, doesn’t mean it will be changed, and changed properly.

Also, look at my season 28 and 29 stats where I piloted lights over 50% of the time. I just like to try out/level other chassis.

I don't care about your sesonal stats. As long as you still shoot at the enemy that's all I care about when you drop on my side. We both know how full of s-it pgi is when it comes to mwo on fixes and features. The newest patch? Only a reset for solaris and a cockpit item. No bug fixes, no mech problems fixed, no maps tweeked, and no real reason to keep playing mwo.

If they ever did want to fix that spread sheet they also have these few matches I've ran with the jenner to give another set of data points. Not that they ever will. If any thing it just proves the points I and pilots like Darian constly bring up which has lasted literal years just like the time it took two years and 98 pages of daily bitching to get the catapults models fixed from when pgi did their dynamic geometry.

I can add this nearly hour long video of me using the mech as well for more data.
