PGI buys the license off MS
Doesn't actually do anything and PGI still goes bankrupt because of poor decisions
License gets auctioned off
Harmony Gold buys it
Goodbye Mechwarrior

God that's horrible. This **** is why I said just sell MWO to MS.

Given how PGI have treated what licensing they have had, I can only imagine Microsoft selling the IP if they think that it's now worthless and completely irredeemable. If it retains value, no responsible IP holder in their right mind would ever sell, loan or even just lend anything to PGI.

I have a simple, somewhat elegant, somewhat controversial solution to your license issue:
Just buy the BT/MW IP off microsoft.

Oh good God no. Th license needs to go to a good developer,

Wouldn't it be cool if it was sold to the makers of Animal Crossing?

You have your mechs on an island. They are cute, bouncy happy mechs that fire emoji weapons at the neighbors.

I'm going to Twitter to talk to Russ right now.

Listen guys. The salt is great. Really is. But its unproductive. Russ and the boys see every insult as a personal rebuke, and that may lead them to just shot down mwo entirely. Then what would we do? No mwo. All because some people couldnt stop being salty biaches.

Well, we either come to a consensus on whether or not we want we want MWO to live or watch it die.

Honestly I'd prefer if Microsoft refused to renew or found fine print in their licensing contract that would allow them to cancel it and let another developer have the opportunity to take over game production of the franchise.

That's like coming to a consensus on whether or not we want we want Baby Seals to live or watch them die.

It is over Posted Image , PGI has no technical Crew for MWO and no Money and Time to make 2 Years without new Money a MWO 2 with UE2, or he brings it very fast and its a new Disaster thats bring further bad Promotion to Bryan and Russ/PGI and the talented UE4 Crew leaves the Party like the Cry3 Crew

Corporations, especially huge ones as Microsoft, very, very, very rarely sell their IP licenses. It's better to just sit on them than sell them

Zombie situation.

My take on it is because no one is willing to make an offer for it. I don't see from a cold business perspective, why would anyone buy it.

BattleTech / MechWarrior - niche IP with history full of lawsuits that can be returned to court at any time ...
