Tube for tube IS LRMS are better. but they pay for it in weight.

On smaller mechs where tonnage is an issue cLRMs are superior.
On larger mechs where tonnage isn't an issue IS LRMS are superior.

The tipping point is around the 70 ton mark. So basically, the only mechs worth taking IS LRMS on are assaults, and if you're taking LRM's on an assault...

Yup Orion IIC A with 4x20 LRMs and Ultra AC 10 is a good clan LRM mech but because it's got 80 tubes so yea they get good when boated

Also yea clan can do smaller more mobile LRM mechs easily that have a lot of tubes. Like 60 ton Maddog only 5 tons from a medium but carry 70 tubes still have tonnage for lasers and tag. Archers,Catapults and Orion can do IS LRM well but those are quirked up the A S S. As far as putting LRM on assaults it works out fine yea only need two good missile boats assault to do the LRM work. The rest can go on direct fire.

hence half weight weapons


Doh clan weapons in general have longer duration, more heat, more spreadly
And in the case of missiles, streamed missiles ezier to ams

Makes perfect sense they work differently from an engineering standpoint if you reduce the weight on something that much you going to have to re-engineer how it functions.

Not really it obvious IS are heavy because there tube need to be stronger to fire all there missile at one time so they don't rip themselves a part. Clan re-engineered there tubes to fire in stages so they could reduce weigh

But can you deny..
..That the weapons were used and so tested in battle

Details and morality of any battles are up to debate
But the weapons were used, made better, used some more, made better, more using etc

So what I said was correct
In regard to the difference between Clan and IS tech.

The Inner Sphere being so busy, possibly with "Committing genocide is not a "test", hat not time obviously to improve their tech.

If fact they went backwards, techwise, lostec and all that Jazz.
