RAM - 7GB (8 physical but one is reserved for the integrated GPU) @ 1200MHz

And the disc drive is an XBOX 360 external HD-DVD drive even though I don't own any HD-DVDs, not even King Kong Posted Image

Sorry, the the 2nd R7-250 is in the PCIe slot. I consider it "external" as it's not integrated in the CPU.

because I think Russ does like the IP.

Assumes facts not in evidence.

We do know, however, that Russ spends more time playing World of Tanks than his own games, as specifically referenced in his twitter feed awhile back.

Imagine he complains about balance, bugs, features in WoT while he let's his own game which he could make into anything rot away. Kinda funny thought.

My face when I thinking of him trying to Nascar in WOT and complaining about the MM cause he's up against better players:

Or the first time someone from EG asks to see the source code...

They'll come out of that room with that shell shocked "Thousand Yard Stare".

At least now, every stupid decision that PGI makes starting next year, they'll be able to blame it on the Parent Company.

Just like "the good old days", when they could blame things on IGP.

Oh, and I love them calling PGI a publisher of "AAA Games" in the press release!

Just LOL.

And one of the visual charts EG put up in the video shows that PGI owns the "license rights" to 2 IP's??!!

What is the SECOND IP that PGI claims to "own"?

Transverse?

I like when they showed all those 80% scores that MW5 got.

Like c'mon Big Bob's Fishing Simulator on the TI83 Calculator got a 90%. Those "review" farms hand those out like candy. Guess they didn't pay them enough for a few more %.

I hope the new company has a better plan for the future of these games then PGI. The scope of PGI has been work on whatever is in front of them, make it about 75% of what it should be, about 50% of what it could be, and then sit back and wait for franchise fans to give them money anyway because: franchise monopoly.

new company needs to let PGI survive as a stand alone in the group..... by sending auditers and demanding action plans and 6 month, 1 year, and longer business plans from PGI. And then expecting results to follow. MWO doesn't need a bunch of new maps etc. it needs to retain players and advertise to get new ones.... and to do that it needs to fix the core gameplay issues.
The short term should be to stop bleeding players, and overhaul a few core issues.
One year should be an increase in player numbers, and new monetization models. Stuff like buy in tournaments for groups with prizes, MC buy in special events(with freebie alongside with obviously inferior prizes) etc.
Longer should be to increase player numbers enough to actually make reopening the book on faction war feasible.

Of course, in the cut throat business world of accountants and treating fans like faceless numbers, we have as much chance of that as we do they will close the entire thing down, ax half the staff and make the rest do farmed out work from other members of the business group.

Every day that goes by, I wish the group that made Battletech had shown interest in buying out everything from MWO to MW5 to the actual MW license from microsoft. But, fingers crossed the future is brighter now then it was for the last few years.

That's an enormous red flag for a game, developer spending more time playing other games than his own.

I believe his comment was that WoT really has no matchmaker (simply matching up similar vehicles on each team) and MWO actually does a better job with matchmaking. Yeah, he said that.....

The press conference video is now at:

Ahh thanks for the video . Now I see why this company bought pgi. All they care about is increasing their portfolio so they can sell more stock. They're just running out buying any low hanging fruit they can. I can't believe Russ got so lucky to sell to a parasital corporation.

Same here. The 13 mins presentation is all about the advantage of adding another "collection" to the portfolio, there is literally NOTHING about utilizing the IP acquired, making attractive titles or any plans to improve the existing ones, so if the step mother figured out no more milk could be squeezed from MWO, they will shutdown the lights of it in a blink.

So yes, the game is sort of officially GG (certified) now.

Very interesting. EG7 looks like the early glimmer of those big horizontal lodestars. I'm curious as to who sought out whom.

Having worked for a company/business unit sold and bought three times in 6 years, I see the potential for greater ambition and attentiveness from PGI through the resources and oversight of EG7 — likely stuff other than MechWarrior, but I'll repeat for the nth time that it never made any sense, other than incapability, not to supersede MWO with a modern PVP game and new set of player purchases (which we all know most of us would go for, loudest complainers first).
