No, they listened to a bunch of people who don't play the game like Larsh. Many of the players blamed for the queue merge were against it.

Are you saying Jay Z don't play the game?

He spoke against the queue merge from start to finish.

The merged queue is the thing people have problems with. The matchmaker itself is doing just fine other than the gates being stuck in the wide 1-3 tier spread they were set for to kickstart the system. Jay's system was the best of the ones that were on the table at that point and is doing much MUCH better than the old system would. We'd all be together in one big Tier 1 with the previous metric.

For example, mine, nightbird's and cluster fox's systems were NOT on the table as two of them were outside of the scope of what PGI was prepared to deal with and one did not exist yet.

Btw, you are spamming A LOT of small replies very fast, making a lot of noise. It is not very good netiquette.

You're conflating the queue merge and PSR changes, it's not really worth discussing anything with you if you aren't going to discuss things in good faith.

My summary of the cast, and I really am not being cynical here:

- Everything is on the table except things that might not be feasible.
- 2021 is split into 4 parts that the road map, which will be released in January, will lay out, but the road map will be fluid so anything can change.

But essentially every specific topic that they came up, from skill tree, to spawn point changes, to new maps, really came down to:
- "sure we can do these this",
- "we are open to discussion",
- "need to prioritize and take things on a case by case",
- "there isn't one answer",
- "need to really look into, not sure if we have looked into this",
- "everything is on the table".

In short, there is nothing new here. There is no progress, no actual plan to share, no real vision beyond "we want this (whatever this is) to be primarily driven by the community". Daeron made several comments along the lines of "yeah we can possibly do that as long as it fits with the plan" and every time I kept wondering "What is the ****ing plan!"

Oh, and a personal highlight for me that I think sums up the chances that we will actually get any real improvements here came during an aside about Everquest where Russ said: "people hate stuff getting fixed or changed".

What an absolute waste of time.

Since less than 15000 people play 10 games or more a month I am not sure what you expect. The industry does a lot of hype and under delivery and that is when they have 1500K users a month so saying that anyone has any leverage on a company that is seeing 100x less than that is defying reason.

I think doing simple thing like changing spawns etc are not the things that would bring people back it may have made people stay but saying wow I'll come back because spawns are better is just fallacious ********.

The game needs fundamental change to attract people and I don't see that happening I cannot spend any more money on MWO because there isn't much I would buy indeed I kind of think I have spent oo much money in the first place for a game that now when you look back on it has just too many problems.

People have left because in the end that it is does not give the replayability, the fun aspect that a game like this needs and that is partly down to what they wanted to achieve with the game

Having listened to the Town Hall, I am happy that I didn't expect anything of real worth being discussed in it. When you aren't expecting anything, you won't be disappointed. We really only just got the Cadets being moved to T5 and very vague "building a roadmap" for the future.

PGI realizing that making changes, be it just tiny small changes, is important to keep the player motivated and giving the picture that the company listens to them is extremely important. Now with over a month of waiting for things to come, we haven't had nothing new and the existing lack of trust from the player towards the company hasn't moved away. Because PGI hasn't been able to actively communicate with the players and shown that they aren't willing to do changes into the game, how can the players think that they should spend time with a game that doesn't get the attention from the devs.

What I am asking is just some activity, some patch notes that shown that some numerical values in the balance are being changed. Hell if PGI doesn't want to spend their time thinking about it or spending valuable development hours testing things, they could just outsource this to somewhere else. The community has done spreadsheets and Power Points on the balance and they are just disregarded outright. Use them now as people have done them for free for the betterment of the game and PGI doesn't need to spend no time doing these pointless Town Halls where they refuse to tackle the problems.

Why should I care about MWO or play this if the devs don't care about MWO?

Except for some hero mechs with interesting hardpoints or quirks, ie K9 or IV4, everything else makes way more sense to be just ground out with credits as the real world cost of the mechs is ridiculously high. Mech packs, which may have 1-2 good mechs and 5-6 variants no one has ever used, cost up to nearly A$100. Or I could use some of the 300 million credits I've got saved to just get the 1 good variant.

It would take a new player maybe one mech pack to work that out generally... and after being stung once, never buy one again.

They need to consider pricepoint and put themselves back in the market. Let new players buy mixed bags, ie cherry pick variants across different mechs and weight classes. Or at least some meta mechs collected together.

PGI could release "supporter packs" (like path of exile), just after adding some content (ie not mechs).
- The packs would contain a combination of new warhorn, new skins, colors, MC, time, badges, i don't know.
- The packs would be replaced each time new content is added.
- People could buy packs if they like the content, even if the packs are not that interesting.

CurrentIy, I think any other monetization would have a hard time (except those for new players)

-> added to the command chair monetization topic.

Folks, your feedback is appreciated ... but pretty please - where applicable - place it into the appropriate threads in the CommandChairSection. Thank you.
