It depends on your playstyle, and what Assault/Heavy/Medium/Light mechs you wish to play regularly.

The 85ton BattleMaster BLR-1G(S) has some amazing quirks, if you are into energy weapons Assaults with some ballastics and some missiles.
+20% Range for Medium Lasers (basically turns them into ER-Medium Lasers, but less heat!)
-5% Medium Laser Heat
~For all other energy weapons +10% Range
+20% PPC velocity
+15% Ballistic Cooldown
+10% Ballistic Range
Quite agile for 85ton IS Assault!

Any of the mechs a great deal to buy? I've recently come back to the game after a 2 year break, and other than the Scorch and maybe the Hunchback IIC, I don't own any of them. I was eyeballing the IS mechs, but I'm not sure if there are any I should just plan avoid, or that have horrible perks for that chassis. Thanks for the help!

I don't like this, it is shady when developers charge a premium for one-time "unique" items that are advertised as never going to be available again and then turn around and re-release them. They do things like this in Fortnite all the time and you should read the backlash they get.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like they are bringing out the 2 extra standard variants, colors, nor cockpit items this time. I remember all too well how PGI made a poll about bringing the mechs back and how it was smacked down. But bringing out the only [P] variants for people who still want them isn't really that bad.

I actually want to buy this Phoenix Variant of BattleMaster BLR-1G(P).
It's been seven (7) real life years since its release in 2013, and I was not around to buy it back then.

Out of curiosity, what's the logic behind the blr being $20 and scorch and maul being $16? :D

I won't whine about it too much, I don't play much anymore and I will never again buy any "limited" or "Special" item from PGI unless it is at a deep discount and something I actually want.

Never understood the backlash about getting the phoenix packs back. I bought the biggest pack back in the day and couldn't care less about them getting back. Specially when the variants here are not really good. For example look at the Battlemaster variant. That thing has 60 degree torso twist range. That's the same as a Dire Wolf has. Now you know how bad this mech ist.

When you're playing the energy boat BLR, your torso twist matters less than it might seem - you just peek with your shoulder hardpoints over a ridge, fire an alpha and pull back into cover.

There is an issue with the Thunderbolt TDR-5S(S) being sold for $16.
I bought one earlier today, but what I got was the TDR-5S.

Was suppose to get 7 energy hp, but instead got mech with 2 energy, ballistic and missle hps.

You got the TDR-5S(S), which is a special version - indicated by the (S) - of the basic Thunderbolt TDR-5S with 4 energy, 2 missile and 2 ballistic hardpoints.
It is NOT a TDR-5SS with 7 energy and a missile hardpoints.

Ok I see what you mean.
It's confusing cos when you go in game and look, there is NO 5S(S) listed anywhere, which would make it look like the 5SS (in game) is the same one, just that it is listed without the().

That is confusing and of course what I paid for is not what "the game" shows our I wouldn't have paid for it.

It takes knowing that the Special (S) indication is not part of the model number, yeah.
