Hi

Just want to share a discovery I made recently that improved my hit registration situation.

All connections have two ends and I wanted to make sure my end was as guid as I could get it.

I try all sorts of registry hacks, but my hit reg was variable

Sometime great some time crap

USB PC to android phone tethering doesn't have a lot of scope for tweaks

But changing the driver sure made a difference

After changing from a Samsung driver to a Microsoft driver the difference it made is huge.
No more light mechs stuttering around, more kills more damage more everything!

Best test Commando void shielding will get back.

Try it if you are in the same situation

The link for the article is below

Hope it helps

Thought youse should noe!

sounds pretty reasonable, if your best connection is tethering your mobile ... thats a bit rough .... I always kinda assumed from your name and ping that you were stuck down here in teh wastelands of australia ... most of the time down here, a 3g data connection will be more 'stable' than most 4g towers ....

I'd recommend you play around with the user.cfg variable
cl_packetRate = 60
which is how often your client sends an update to the server ... I'm on ethernet / fibre and expect each packet to make it there in order, and im limiting myself to 60 frames, so theres not much point in 'sending' a new update packet each frame .... and maybe, if all 12 guys had there stuff set to 60 ... the server might start getting flooded weirdly ....

I'd suggest 30 as a normal minimal for anyone whos going to drive anything faster than a direwhale

I'm in town got a pretty good signal, 75-85db, link is fast 480Mps,
it adds 10ms to the connection but thats ok apart from driver issues doh.
I think the old driver was stalling at times were as the new MS driver kicks but.

HSR works pretty good even in OZ with higher pings though it can be sensitive to the connection quality of the user and routing

I been getting lots more low damage some kills games with some 1K games too so the driver change is definitely working

I will try that tweak
Thanks

The cl_packetRate = 60

variable seems to make it worse

so I removed it

yep, 60 is probably too often for how your phone talks to the tower ... to some degree the value will affect your lag, say you were pushing 60 frames, but set the value as low as 10, the display draws a frame, the very next frame you start changing from the 'prediction' and 5 more frames happen before your data would be sent out, to then have a 200ms travel time ... each frame is 16.7 ms ... finding the right value for what your equipment can handle would help you 'save time' in instances like that ...

try 20, 24 32, 40 etc ...
