I’m being serious. What do you recommend?
also, how can I find a group that would be willing to tutor me?
Thanks
Set mouse settings for better aim - usually by reducing sensitivity.
Use the MinMap...look at it every few seconds to project where the action is happening/going. Its the literal minigame within this game.
Learn the maps - but realize 95% of matches will be: move to right of center, then trade, or nascar. Camping = death unless you have comms+winning trades, which is rare.
Learn to saw off choice enemy components. Splash damage is literally wasted effort, unless you can pump out tons of it OVER LESS TIME AND DISTANCE
Learn why nascar is actually better than some options in solo.
Static Firing Lines will crumple to nascar. Mooks calling for a 'firing line' without giving a facing or conditions to reposition are LARPers trying to play Battletech in MWO. Ignore or chide them as you see fit.
Learn most players will just amount to NPCs and use them as shields.
Identify skilled players and work with them...or remove them from the enemy team as priority if able.
Learn to use good mechbuilds.Meta is meta for a reason.
Learn there is only one role in solo: damage dealer
Free Trade > Winning Trade > Equal Trade > Losing Trade > eating damage for no reason. Should be obvious but its not.
Dont peek, one at a time, to the enemy firing line. Peek as group or reposition.
Getting Angles helps get Free Trades, TIMING allows free trades via poking during enemy cooldowns.
Dont blindly follow Lights. If you follow me blindly, and cant keep up, i use you as bait.
Dont sit in the back like a ponce...unless you are baiting an enemy light.
There is no 'support' in Solo.
Sniping is a waste unless you are really good. And even then, only like, 4 mechs are good at it. You aint that good, just dont.
You dont need ECM or Stealth, though they are fun, they are a crutch to new players.
Assaults in Solo should never really take their finger off the W key. Because war isnt waiting for your slow a**. A lot of players will
NEVER understand this. Assaults require above average positioning and timing skills. There is no 'tank' role in MWO. Hit first, hit hard, subtract enemy firepower, reduce getting hit yourself.
Lights need to be ghetto. If you are seen, you failed. if you are alone(unless soloing fat mechs hiding in the back), you failed. If you 1v1 another light early match on even footing, you failed. If you sacrificed HP for a UAV, you likely failed unless YOU needed that uav. if you arent using blues as meatshields, you failed. If you are last mech standing you have 2 choices: YOLO to Valhalla. Or, Vulture and kill the weak. If you hide to save your PSR, you aint got the balls. Running in straight lines = death - serpentine, zigzags, sudden stops, and using topography are your arts. If you peek the same spot 3 times, you die...unless in a Wolfhound, they can eat some damage. NEVER OVERHEAT, better to run and cooldown. Once you git gud, break these rules as you will, just be ghetto about it.
FORMULA FOR WINNING MWO - In SOLO IT IS THIS SIMPLE:
Shoot enemy more than they shoot you. Subtract bigger threats first if able. Sometimes a ST or Leg is all you need to remove.
Proof: 30 damage alpha is capable by most mechs. 10 alphas = 300 damage. 300 damage to CT will kill any mech.
Look at the losing team. How many 300 damage players did they have?
LAND. 10. GOOD. HITS.
Get hit less while doing so
