ok im sure there must be a practical solution, but.......

I have a very nice and big monitor , that does 4K

when i set the game to the monitors native resolution

the highest game allows.

and its awesome to play matches,,,,,,but

I cant see, or read or for all practical purposes do anything

in the main screen, even when logging in,,,,,,,

i need a microscope

or just guess what im typing to log in

in the game my work around has been to change video

settings in matches and then back when out,,,,,,,,,but

this has been a bother and i'm tired of it

SO anyone know a better way or is this game

just over the hill for anyone using modern Technology?

so i did an E-mail but this isn't a tech problem that's something wrong with my game, its more (i hope) i'm just ignorant as how to set the settings, some player must have had the same experience and came up with a solution?

and the tech team is out till next year or something anyway

anyone? maybe i just need to waste the potential of my monitor and use 1990s settings ?

what you are looking for is either a mechlab ui scaling factor or a different setting for mechlab render resolution

neither is present even tho either solution wouldnt take more than a lazy tuesday evening worth of programming

I have a 4k monitor and have the exact problem with the entire UI (User Interface) when not playing MWO.
MWO game client as it is simply did not scale the UI (User Interface) to make 4k readable.

ie:
~Hanger is so small you cannot read the wordings on the components.
~Select Mech is also so small that you can see many mechs, but cannot see details.
~ditto for Skill Tree
~ditto for Drop Deck management in FP
~ditto for ingame Store (buy mech/Hero)

Therefore MWO game client as it is simply did not scale the UI (User Interface) to make 4k readable.

game engine is most definitely over the hill. but i don't believe its incapable of simple ui scaling. pgi just didn't bother implementing it.

my only suggestion is learn to squint. that's what i do.

lets not let our logical and functional workarounds distract us from bashing pgi for not doing their jerb to the satisfaction of their customers.

but to be fair pgi probably never figured the game would ever run at 4k.

I'd suggest just run it at 1440p. I'm sure it looks amazing in 4K but it's not really necessary. It looks magnificent in 1440p as well. Especially after image sharpening tweeks in Nvidia control panel under 3d settings. It doesn't scale right at 1440p either but is readable.Good luck.

Solution. Buy a big screen 4k tv. Nowadays they are just as good as a dedicated pc monitor or even better. Mine has a killer hardware upscaler so for games that choke out at 4k like red dead redemption 2 I can drop it to 1440p and the upscaler has it looking almost as good as native 4k. If that isn't an option buy a pair of cheap readers to put on when you need to see the tiny text.

4k text should be just as crisp as 1080p or 1440p. If you can't read it, not get glasses or use a lower resolution or sit closer to the screen?

Its just as crisp but since the mech bay ui doesn't scale with resolution like the in game overlays its tiny at such a high resolution and hard to read on small 4k displays.

We're not gonna get new UI with the game on maintenance mode, so either use the simple fixes or don't *shrug*

Well I don't have that issue because I play on a 58" 4k panel. Posted Image

i can make it out so its tolerable for me. but squinting is for the smartphone gamer, not something a pc gamer should have to deal with.

dont need a new ui, the current one is fine. just render it to a 1080 overlay and scale it to 4k.
