well this targeting thing is very interesting, i know you're right about tag
it would be nice if pgi would weigh in, i know that some times locks take
longer for some unknown reason, also it seems if you hold your targeting direct
in centre of target it locks quicker, than if its just inside box but off center,
this is interesting though, i learn new things all the time

ECM makes targeting take longer. Direct line of sight makes targeting faster.

I am not sure if the relatively small benefits of that Targeting Computer Mk. III warrant spending three tons on it.
And I think that your LRM-boat could use Target Acquisition Gear.

If you are going for lurms, why not just go full ******?
AWS-8R
skillz: aff7fffdffedc7d5e0a0000000000000000000000e8770270e70e83a2211f
Skills... strikes vs uav is your choice, ppl tend to hide behind buildings when lurmed so strikes are pretty much autohit, but if some bogger is coming to kill you... UAV might tell your friendlies that there is something to kill next to you.
build itself: why 3 instead of 4 launchers? well IMO 3 is good for heat/ammo balance, you can endlessly rain misery on your beloved foes over 1000m away.

If a tc reduced target lock time it would be a staple of every guided missile build.

It does though doesn't it? Because isn't lock on time affected by sensor range? I don't know by how much, though.
Only for indirect fire and by very very little.
This is one niche use for the Command Console tho, since it takes 1 crit, 3 tons and increases sensor range more than TCIII does. I haven't actually seen anyone use it but it could be fun to experiment with the sensor range quirked CP-10-Q with command console and all sensor range skill nodes. Ammo and heat sinks are almost certainly better, but it'd be interesting as a one-off experiment.

i didn't mention all the skills but ya all the target ect ect,
range, and missile skills
radar dep. ect ect
Im rethinking the Computer just from what folks are saying but so far it does (seem) to help
the computers have always had those who think they are great and those who have no use for them
and i'm talking about people who aren't running Lurms
bur any range thingy helps
i think.
and i'm not arguing this is the ultimate missile boat just that its a very good one, as well as versatile,
and the speed of it with the arm swing is really a bonus most missile boats cant match.
personaly the 2 best missle mechs i think are the
Golden Boy with LRM 5s and 2 med Pulse
and the Blood Asp Omni, using ECM and 4 LRM 20s 2 med Pulse
range, and missile skills
radar dep. ect ect
