Rasalhaguans think that by forming a unit for mercs and warriors alike, called The Skjaldborg, they will stop you at their borders and will not let a single planet under your ocupation. Now, they think devs will have to force them to leave those worlds, because you are not competent enough to break through. What is your opinion on it? Do you believe that handfull of Vikings can stop your whole invasion right at its start? ;)

It does nothing for your argument when you say "handful of vikings" other sentences with those words in them include but are not limited too: "My city was just burned down by a handful of vikings!" or the classic "How did that handful of vikings just kill everyone?"

"A handful of vikings just drank all my mead!" "A handful of vikings just killed my Mad Cat!" "A handful of vikings hog all of the skandinavian women!"

;) ;) :(

Or, my personal favorite, one of those Space Vikings just took a handful of my Dire Wolf's cockpit. Shame you Clanners don't have the nerve for a good mechanized fistfight.

Well Mr. Pryde, that is when we get out and kill them with an axe. Handful of elementals < handful of vikings.

Okay, that right there would be the best thing ever. An Axman-driving ax-crazy space viking. With an ax. Presumably spouting ax-puns while chopping the arms off of a Timber Wolf.

Its a shame that the falcons will not have the fun to conquer the Raselhague Republic. We let your silly worlds to one of the weaker clans like the Wolves and the Ghost bears so you will have a chance to prove your "axe theory" on their elementals.

FRR warriors cannot read, this forum thread is for Discussions regarding Clans, not dreaming. Roleplay is a more appropriate thread for trolling. That or off topic.

Watch your tongue, Adridos. You sound like a hissing Snake. There will be a feast for Wotan soon enough. Perhaps if you fight well I'll see you in Valhalla... save a place for me at the table.

Spot on, it's a variation on Odin. Totally off-topic but is there a good source of information on the "Modern Norse" aspect of FRR culture? I've studied Norse mythology and Old English, and it'd be fun to roleplay that aspect of the Republic, but a check at the Sarna wiki and Google didn't give me much to go off of.

I realy dont know if they still belive in all the old mythology stuff. I mean look in our time and ask people on the street if they still belive in the Norse mythology.

I see your point, Grayson, but my curiosity was piqued by the brief mention in their culture section on the BattleTech wiki.

Looking at modern practicioners of neo-paganism, it doesn't seem so far-fetched to me that there would still be a strong current of norse mythology and religion in the FRR. You don't necessarily have to have an unshakeable belief in the supernatural to place a strong personal and cultural value on ritual, mythology, and lore. These can inform your worldview in meaningful ways. I may not pray to Odin before a battle, but a meditation on the nature of conflict, bersekers, and the concept of Valhalla can still be a source of strength and clarity before an operation. This is in addition to reminding me of the strong cultural heritage and history that I'm defending in my FRR lance.

Not to make this too much about religion, I personally am an agnostic, but the possibilty to touch on religion and culture really beefs up the roleplay potential. Not a must, but it can be a fun aspect of the game, and judging from the folks that will be making up the "early adopters" I'm looking forward to a little touch o' that between operations. Woo!
