I'm trying to configure my Vapor Eagle-A and the suggested build from GrimMechs is LB20X + 4xCSRM6. May I know the following:

1) Is LB20X better than AC20 or UAC20? If yes, may I know why?

2) Will equipping 2xATM12 better than 4xCSRM6? I felt ATM12 can be more versatile as it can shoot mid to long range and when during close range, we can also make direct shots into the enemy (but have to be aware of the <120m ineffective range).

I have been swapping between 2xATM12 with 2xLRM40, my performance using LRM is slightly better but often I realise when the enemies have slightly better players or city maps, my LRM can't do much damage. When I equipped with ATMs, as the missiles flight arc is almost flat, thus it kinda force me to do close range engagement. But my Vapor Eagle goes down quite fast as it lacks of armor.

Thus I'm thinking of using GrimMechs suggesed brawling build but will like to learn more from all the helpful guys in this forum how should I pilot this mech if I use the brawling build?

Clan ultras produce a lot of heat and fire a stream of projectiles that is hard to put on target. Clan LB20 produces less heat and fires an immediate cluster that goes where it was pointed when trigger was pressed.

Inner sphere AC20 fires a single projectile instead and would be preferable when faced with a similar choise, but clans unfortunately don't have an equivalent option.

The LB20 and SRMs have matching ranges and cooldowns, letting you fire everything at once and then twist and move for cover. At the same range, ATMs would cause issues with their minimum range and cooldown.

Thanks, this explanation really clears my doubt why the combination is as such. I will try out that build and hopes it will turn out well for me as my experience in brawling is not so good as usually I'll be shredded.

I like to play the Veagle A in that build, be sure that you give him some durability skillpoints to make him tankier.

The standart CP-S build i drive is with 4 LB10x; shoot and twist.

The Quickdraw IV is maybe one of the strongest mechs ingame, good that you bought it.

For IS Heavies i would mention the Grashopper 5-H. It can carry alot of different builds, 2 HPPC + MLaser; 3LPL + MLaser; 3 LL + Mlaser. Its very mobile for a heavy.

Grasshopper 5-H didn't come into my buying radar, will definitely have a look at it.

Currently I have bought some mechs from the Bundles of Joy. As I enjoy playing Shadow Hawk-2H with 3xRAC2 thus I also bought Wolverine-6R. But somehow the performance of Wolverine is quite different. I tried Wolverine with 2xRAC2 + MRM10 but as the RAC are mounted at the arm, I have to expose quite a fair bit of my body (if peeking) in order to get them firing. Then I also tried it with MRM60, the play is better. Is there other builds which you guys would recommend that I should try it on the Wolverine?

i have another question, can I own more than one mech of same variant? Why I want to do that is I don't want to switch among the builds as the different builds will have different armor configuration such as Standard Armor & Ferro Fibrous and everytime when I switch between the builds, I have to pay for the armor change.

No. They are purely cosmetic.

There are some Hanging and Standing Cockpit Items that give you a 5% CBills or XP Bonus each, as shown below:

Note that there are versions for either Clan Mechs and IS Mechs and only those will benefit from them.
They are not directly purchasable.

There were one or two events that rewarded them since Nov 2017. Also, both Civil War Packs rewarded these on the full collector/ultimate level.

May I know can have more than 1 mech of the same variant? Meaning if I like Vapor Eagle-A, can I have more than 1 Vapor Eagle-A in my inventory?

Note that you will have to skill each one up separately in the skill tree! (You might find old info around here on the original skill tree where all copies of a variant shared the same skill tree, but that is no more.)

I notice that at Steam, they have a different offer for MWO, "Solaris 7 Heroes Starter Pack" which goes for about US$20 as compared to the package price in MWO Store cost US$30. Do I have to start the account in Steam in order to enjoy that US$20 offer? If yes, can I link the Steam account to my existing MWO account?

If I play MWO on Steam, those Bundles Offers in MWO Store are they also avaliable in the Steam account?

Forgive me for asking stupid questions as I didn't touch Steam until now and I'm confuse whether Steam MWO and MWO are considered different or same accounts?

When I do normal browsing through the MWO Store, I don't see the "Solaris 7 Heroes Starter Pack" listed. But when I search from the internet which are the 7 hero mechs that the package includes, then I'm able to link it to MWO Store but the package cost US$30. So does it mean that Steam will offer better discount?

How can I browse other package offers in MWO store which are not listed in the current Store page?

You use existing MWO account with Steam.
Steam is just for downloading/updating the client, no separate acc involved.
Steam offer is cheaper AND it is sometimes on Steam sale, for even lower price.

The Roadmap says there will be some new Steambundles up soon™. Steam has regional pricing, which can be beneficial in certain areas.

Thanks for the tips and I'm aware that the Heroes Mechs are not meta. When I bought those Bundles of Joy mechs, soon I realise that they are also not-so-great mechs and since then I have been trying to make them works, find the right builds which suits my play style. Through this process, I notice that though some mechs are not as easy to play as others, but trying to make these mechs to work is also another kind of "fun" since I already sunk in my money in them and have to make them works.

Since you point out that they are not-so-great mechs, I will think twice (if not thrice) before I buy the pack.

I really appreciate all the bros who replies to all my queries and it really improves my experience with MWO. I really hope that MWO can last for a longer time thus sometimes when I spend money on the game, I hope that with my little contributions, MWO can continue to develop, reverse the declining trend and grow so that more bros can enjoy this machines game.

So do I have to download and install MWO from Steam? When I click on the "Solaris 7 Heroes Starter Pack", it direct me to the payment method but still did not ask for my MWO account. How will these mechs goes to my MWO account?
