Whether a game is succesful or not can be measured by some way via Twitch Streamers and viewers. So far this game is out for over a year and there is a definite bloodshortage of Streamers AND viewers.
Could this be the effect of an Epic deal?

My question to the game developers/owners/people that be : 'Would you - full knowing the effects - take the exact same decision concerning the exclusivity deal with Epic?'

and as a follow up:

'Will you guys put some effort in pushing this product when it finally launches on Steam (Also console but you really can't compare those imo)'.

The MWO streamers played their campaigns trough and moved back to MWO, from what I saw. Single player games don't have much long term value for streaming.

thats what i did. though i dont stream (im neither skilled enough or narcissistic enough to think that other people want to watch me play video games). mw5 kind of gets old, given so few of the drops were on hand crafted maps, and the procedural maps get old very fast due to excessive grind. maybe if the salvage system wasn't so chintzy.

went back and did some mods, that kept me busy for a couple more weeks. the epic deal really killed the modding scene, and delaying the steam release (and not including modding tools), is going to decimate the modding scene.

So perhaps the D2 vs D3 argument won out.
It's a replay of the debate: Diablo 2 (older game engine, still being played!) vs Diablo 3 (newer game engine, better eye candy, but less replayability, more grindy).

So perhaps the core MechWarrior franchise fans still congregate around MWO then.
Perhaps maybe hopefully MWO/PGI will do a bit of modding of MWO to flog more sales then :)

This is good for MWO, and not so good for MW5 :)
