I wouldn't say best. Maybe easiest.

I think ams corsair, those bs atm veagles and pretty much w/e your dakka/mrm assault/heavy of choice are all premier farming tools john deere would be proud of

Why is everyone surprised AMS shoot downs missiles and more AMS shoot downs more missiles? Did they expect it to make missiles do more damage and travel faster?

The thing I think people forget with the Kit Fox is you should be bubbling your teammates so the enemy doesn't get a lock in the first place.

ECM = First line of defense
AMS = Second
Armour = Third

I prefer the Kitfox as an AMS platform because I can actually reposition to respond to where the missiles are coming from. Or better yet, I can go stand beside a Corsair and walk in the rain.

And if you run it with er large you can be just about anywhere on the map and still be in the fight

Yes, these are all excellent tools for farming damage but can they farm damage while earning oodles of free AMS points?

Yup. 2 ER Large is one of my configurations, though I have a tendency to be too aggressive and lose armor on trades when I'm in a light mech so most of the time I roll with ER/Pulse mediums and MGs.

Seems kind of low to me...

I mean; shouldn't quad AMS in a slow moving non-ECM'd assault mech be shooting down closer to 2,000?

The issue with full-AMS boats is that your score depends entirely on what loadouts the red team has chosen. If the reds don't take many missiles then you're pretty gimped compared to a non-AMS build of the same mech as yours.

I've done a lot of AMS and usually the highest I get is around 1800 with 1300-1500 being the 'high' average. If other mechs have AMS they also shoot some missiles down taking away from your total.

Even just double AMS works wonders on all but the biggest ATM boats. I will admit that is kinda nice.

but thats according to my own metrics, i didnt know jarls had mech stats. i mean there is grim mechs, but that doesnt get the attention it needs. though i dont know if i have a cor-7a, and if i dont im gonna buy it next time i play. mechs are practically free for me.

i do have a dual ams marauder 2 thats pretty mean.
