Good, if it works for you.
When I want to run MPLs, I take my trusty Crab. Although it carries less armor, it presents much smaller target for enemy 'Mechs.

Warhammer are great one strongest 70 toners and we are comparing a 50 ton to 70 ton why? Med pulse on this build have range 290+ and it crits like a beast. What build would you leverage a targeting computer on?

He's making the comparison because both mechs are built for close range fighting. In that capacity, a smaller mech can usually close the distance in a shorter time period and while attracting less attention (bigger targets naturally attract more attention than a smaller one, it's the main reason why lights can slip in and out of fights so sneakily).
Both mechs seem effective though so this is more about preference than anything.

As said above: Use it, if you like it.
And I am comparing it because it carries a very similar armament.

Not really can't do a ghost free 45.7 alpha with better range and better heat management

The builds only a few damage points away from dual heavy gauss damage alpha on IS pulse VERY low burn time weapons and then add the computer for crits and more range it's ouchy

Yes, these short ranged builds work well when the map is right. On Polar Highlands or Alpine Peaks it is more difficult to get close enough.

This is were piloting skill really matters and 293 range on IS pulse is really good. They do more damage then std IS meds past 310 range at that minimum range. Even at 400m you are still doing good damage

If u like the play style, an tbolt 5ss with 6 mpl and a lpl, and same in roughneck with less range but good armor does pretty much the same. If i take a whm for pulse boating, then i want to go big. So 9 mpl or 3 lpl 6mpl (hot).

9 mpl is too hot you can't take as man heat skins and it lower your DPS and adding 10+ range modifier give minimum range of med pulse to 293. You are not under stnding just how good that makes the med pulse and also up the DPS A LOT. Then on top of that criting from computer once mechs opened insides it deads fast.

Just don't forget the humble TC4.5 for those splat and sandblasters builds. With extra splat.
