I think it's more a case of complaining about how nascar is the meta. Comp players pride themselves on knowing and playing the peak of the meta, when the meta is nascar and the pugs are performing it without the need for communications and training sessions it undermines what they're working towards.
Imagine your a competitive player in a fighting game, you go the arcade for a few casual matches and some unknown baldy in a cape comes and sit next to you:
1st round starts, he spams low kick, knocks you to the corner and stun-locks you, he wins...
2nd round starts, he spams low punch, knocks you to the corner, stun-locks you and wins again....
He wins the game.
Of course you'd complain.

The tournaments are streamed on twitch.tv, usually via streams advertised on the MWO website and usually via the mwoleagues channel.

Latest Community Spotlight is for the Comp from 2019, you might want to loop Daeron in and get him to update it.

Hey, guess what? Turns out there's absolutely NO nascar in FP, except on some of the regular maps used.
Turns out, the biggest problem to FP is the so-called "organized comp groups" would rather farm potatoes in QP than to actually play against other comp players in FP.

FP has a different kind of meta to comp which doesn't play to their strengths.
In comp you only pilot a single mech per game. If you can only pilot assault mechs that's fine, another teammate who can only play in lights will play in matches you can't. They hyper-specialise for a single round of combat with a single loadout.
FP by virtue of drop decks requires you to be multi-role capable. Something they're not trained in. Comp players in FP struggle because they can't handle more than one task at a time. In FP you've got think on your feet, what has the enemy brought out? What have they got left? Individual waves aren't balanced so you have to adapt your tactics on the fly. Comp players perfer to be pampered and have time to re-evaluate each round (or have a clear advantage as in QP).

This reminds me of a time when I was playing with one of the House of Lords players on Alpine a few years ago. He got pissed off and yelled at us over VOIP when he died even though we ended up winning a few minutes after he died.

The game mode just isn't very interesting from a competitive viewpoint, especially now that there is nothing for a unit to fight for.

I could but I don't want too? They made FP for competitive people it was post to be the end game for teams to fight. It far more interesting them quick play but the comp guys seem to avoid it. Quick play it pretty much deathmatch super excising mixed with low tier canon fodder

I'd give a FP map a try if they were available, even if it'd probably be pretty miserable.

So they can't they can't muster a 12 man? The game modes are the same as well but with respawns and one extra mode. Building drop decks far more interesting then dropping in a single mech. I think its because lack of control it's unpredictable and you guys like things more predicable
