Five pages. Daedalous mentions "Hackers exist" and we get five pages of agonized arguments from people who feel strongly about this for "no reason at all".

ANYONE WONDER WHY COMPETITIVE IS A SALT CRUSTED GRAVEYARD? Me neither.
No wonder PGI wants us off their hands as fast as possible.

It just amazes me how some people get so defensive when someone brings this topic up. You would think a rational person would be for, not against, looking into cheaters. You would think a rational person wouldn't think in absolutes and realize that there is always a percentage of player base that will cheat. Why is this so hard to accept? Ban waves are not unheard of. PGI had at least two of them in the past and we cheered them for doing so. So cheaters exist. Has something changed for them not to exist anymore?

For some it's heresy to even speak of it. Kinda similar to what's going on in the real word.. you speak about a topic that is a little controversial, not so comfy cozy, not so pc.. and instead of having a rational discussion or debate, you get attacked... even if you're obviously correct in your statement. Sad. Unfortunate. Sad that we've lost the art of debate and discussion. It's all been reduced to absolutes, tribalism, name-calling..

These people that cannot grasp that there are alternative views in the world other than the one they hold or their tribe subscribes to, need to do some real introspection and figure out exactly what is making them think and act in this way. And correct it. It will serve them and everyone around them better in life if they do.

Interesting point about the double-dipping.. especially when a game is struggling financially. At this point in my life, nothing surprises me anymore.

I'm just trying to understand the psychology behind why the push-back against anyone that brings this topic up. I don't necessarily think the cheaters are the one's getting aggro about it (although it's still possible), but I think it goes deeper than that and it's very interesting to say the least. Every other legit gaming company uses anti-cheat software and we agree with that and have even come to expect it. PGI doesn't utilize any such software that I know of so it's understandable why some of us are questioning if any investigation of cheaters is being done. Why this is so controversial for some is beyond me.

Another ban wave would give the playerbase confidence in the game and encourage people to spend money... I know I would.

..just as an aside... I gotta say it's a great time to be a 'conspiracy theorist' right now. Watching the rest of the world catch up to me and others like me that speak up for truth despite being called names and shat on in the forums.. after two years of bs lies and totalitarianism by our governments and our media, to see these same people, these closed minded haters, come to the realization that their entire belief system was based on a sham all along.. I tell ya.. it's a MARVELOUS time to be a 'conspiracy theorist.' To those that are awakening, welcome to the club, you'll find nothing but love and open minds here.. we won't criticize your views, we won't call you names.. your voice will be heard. To the rest, I won't do as you had done to me, I won't call you names or belittle you and I won't ban you from my discord for spreading truth.. I just wish a fond good luck to you. You will need it.. because not only do you lack the ability to think for yourself.. but YOU are the fringe minority now.

Some people are more than willing to accept defeat as long their defeater can be seen as a godlike greature of superior skill and knowledge and join their ranks, some simply flock to the successful, some are accomplices, some dont care and some simply want avoid the disturbance in their individual wellbeing that comes with such things and prefer to not know.

By any means - there is nothing left to be done right now, it wont matter anymore...probably the oposite...

Enjoy your stay regardless or leave is the only decision left to make...why hassle?

Why hassle? PGI was applauded during the other major ban wave because it showed they cared about player experience. When people see that the dev's are putting effort into searching out hacks and cheats that ruin the gaming experience for others this discourages future potential haxors from engaging in said activity and at the same time encourages players to invest their hard earned money into the game. I'm not saying this game is flooded with cheat's but doing nothing keeps the door wide open for hackers to keep coming right on in..

It's up to PGi to decide whether it's worth the effort based on population size, player complaints, etc.

Over the years this games scope of the overall potential playerbase has been narrowed very much down to a fraction of its overall size, the fraction that is still content with the game, the discontent do not come back as the content ones have the say and the changes play for them, not the discontent players.

PGI wins nothing to go hunting this time but would evoke further disturbances in the still content player fraction and probably diminish it further.

Even i do myself not see starting a new "MMO Career" in a decade old game, like when i tried SWTOR and played the imperial agent story line that kept me hooked until its end and then i left for good to never come back.
And i play somtimes several decades old games like Darklands from Microprose bcs i like them.

But the time investment into a MMO is to big to start very late and MWO will not be there for long anymore is my guess and so i assume think others about this ages old game...

Where is the profit for PGI investing time and money for some investigation and banning of cheaters at this junction in the games lifespan?

Hey , instead of mouthing off like you know everything. Show us proof that hacks dont exist for this game. A simple search on google , just now , brought up 3 sites that you can buy hacks for this game. I wont list them here because i love this game and hate hacking little brats that cant earn anything on their own. Do your research before you start mouthing off and criticizing others on something you obviously know nothing about. PGI could do the same search , buy them , then figure out how to counter them. Will they ??? thats anyones guess. I wish they would. Even for a old game , its still my goto almost every evening.
