Crosspost from reddit here

As advised by Daeron in the last 24-48hrs there is a full PTS is on its way with the values fully suggested by a group of comp/casual/new/veteran members of the community.

You can find more details/our aims from the MWO Comp Website (hold shift to scroll left to right)
Full List of changes: Full List
Join the feedback on MWO Comp Discord
There is also a dedicated MechDB version NOW ONLINE updated with suggested changes for theory crafting.

The changes listed above are considered for the initial PTS pass. They include weapon changes, MASC adjustments (assuming pre-march patch), and a change to IS CASE which makes it zero tons and allows it to be equipped in arms and legs too

further adjustments will be done in subsequent iterations to the PTS, including a new approach to the Ultra auto cannon system described here:
Spoiler

MWO Comp will also run a competition, league or something during the event by way if Private Lobbies. We will cast the matches. Talk to players etc. Will be a big day.

We have a whole host of significant agility buffs and quirk normalizations (taking into account the weapon changes) across the board in store... One step at a time.... If PGI keeps working with us.

That and re-scale (that's actually happening in the coming months) are going to help the state of the game a lot.

Spread the word.

1. So are you saying that the 17th-March-2021 patch would be rolled back, ie:
~PPC/Gauss/MRM weapons damage/heat/CD values like it was before this 17-March-2021 patch, AND
~MASC mobility/agility like it was before this 17-March-2021 patch? Hurray!

2. So are you saying that instead, the PTS would have a heart transplant, with full values as determined by the Pro community majority Gulag? If so, HURRAY !!!

3. As an aside, does the Gulag address MASC?
I'm starting to get the feeling that the Stryker Pack Tunderbolt TDR-10SE might be the "new" Kodiak Spirit Bear 2.0 if you know what I mean. Perhaps MWO/PGI should let it be--let everyone and their dog buy the TDR-10SE with JJ+MASC+ECM before any nerf "adjustments" as per MWO/PGI standard practice...

I personally would propose using JJ+MASC at the same time gives *no* turn rate boost bonus (ie: turn rate same as if you are not using the JumpJet). Not sure if the MWO Pro's would like it; apparently it's one of their (now well known) tricks up their sleeves... (hence BAS-A with JJ is preferred over BAS-B ).

This is the kind of news I was hoping to see from PGI, not the atrocity that was March patch.

Looking forward to it!

Nice weapon buffs, expecting to see TTK being reduced by 20% or so. 4k games should be easier in FP, looking forward to it.

It should be fun to test some sensible balance changes.

Err... so how do we buy a Mechpack from the gulag?

And if we buy a Mechpack from the gulag, would it count towards our (hopeful) 2021 Annual (Loyalty) Rewards?
(Just curious)

Yeah those changes get me excited, they have potential to bring much needed fun back in the game.
I'd buy a Mechpack from the gulag immediately.

If this is real, I'm going to cry... this is the kind of thing we needed back when MWO was at its peak to keep players.

The re-scaling and agility buffs should allow properly piloted mechs to survive longer.

If someone just stands there and stares at his enemies, yeah he's gonna die faster.

just what the gulag needed, time to test my skepticism.

also i think custom games need an "upload custom xml" button. so anyone can plug any values they want to screw around with. it might disable payouts but thats fine by me.

wrt the uac changes, any chance to see something like that on the racs?

Really nice to see the gulag changes coming, I will eagerly await to play so we can fine tune it and show PGI what we want.

Why, though? The main feature of RACs has a minimum level of consistency that's repeatable and useful; everything beyond the jam bar is extra and you know that going into it and are not entitled to it. UACs, on the other hand, have a primary feature that is not consistent, being useful only sometimes because it rolls the dice 100% of the time you attempt to use it.

the thing that shuts it down ought to be the heat, not a dice roll. you can nudge the heat up at the high end so its really dangerous to fullbar it, if that weakens its performance then compensate by reducing the spin up time. its just got too many gochas going for it.
