So I cannot find any reference to this in Search.

If you did not know, there is a In Beta free software on Steam only for use to help players of various games, usually shooter but they have some non-shooter support, improve their aim and shoot skills.

It is called Aimlab.

Comes with generic tasks and has tools allowing players to set up tasks for specific games. You can also go into settings and change from generic Aimlab settings supposedly to ones game specific but MWO is not currently one of the choices. Some other features I will not get into partly because I have not had the time to explore them all and why take away the fun some get discovering things themselves. Posted Image

I believe this could be used:

- by players who want to improve their aim and shoot skills in game.

- by players who have time to figure out how to use Aimlab tools to set up tasks to assist those in community interested

Note if trying to contact Statespace for any reason, Steam Discussions is not it. I asked a question about Aimlab there, got no answer, seems not much in dev participation so I guess you have to find their other social media contacts for more. This would include getting MWO Settings allowed in Aimlab and maybe use of certain weapon types not found in other shooters.

Enjoy.

Heh I thought this was going to be about some form of assisted aim and warn you about illegal mods but its just a trainer for practicing aiming in various games. Seems cool enough.

Better to practice your aim playing MWO itself.

Win or lose, you get better at your aiming, gain C-Bills & experience points !

The aiming in MWO is the easiest there is. This is not CS:GO where you have to aim nearly pixel perfect to get a headshot. The only difficult part is, to know where to shoot. And hitting UAVs with a ballistic weapon.

Aiming starts with your mouse.. Get a better one. Also Aiming is terrible with controllers please stop using them.

And lowering the mouse sensitivity in game to somewhere between 0.1-0.2 as the default is just way too high for accurately targeting side torsos etc.

You would be unable to recreate MWO aiming in aimlab 1:1 like you can for other games

Although, simply playing aimlab would improve your aim in MWO. As some of those challenges are difficult enough that if you went back to MWO it would feel like slowmo easy mode

In the settings, at the bottom of the General location, check mark the Color Blind Friendly Reticle. Instead of flaring up Red, The reticle lines change from yellow to red as well as adds additional diagonal lines (NE/NW/SE/SW) on hits.

This video shows how it looks at round the 7:17 min mark to 7:24 min mark.

Unfortunately a tool like this is almost useless for MWO.

In MWO, the crosshair has weight to it, it has inertia and resists movement, and has a velocity cap. And every single mech in the game has a different sensitivity. Aiming in other games, as well as tools like AimBooster and AimLab, has no weight, no inertia. It's a completely different experience, and they don't provide the means to recreate MWO-like aiming in their programs. The only thing these tools will train you on is reaction time and focus, but for MWO they may even degrade your mechanical aiming skills because the reticle movement is so fundamentally different.

I think he means the opposite - he wants to make the crosshair less visible, because it actually gets in the way of seeing what you're aiming at a lot of the time. And the only way to achieve this is to mod the UI, which is against ToS.
