On another topic, I imagined that Netflix can do a Battletech kind of show, using the Japanese CGI studio that did Knights of Sidonia and Pacific Rim: The Black. All you need is a good concept and script.

Plausible, it'll be battletech anime.

But if it's any story we have already seen like MW5 or HBS Battletech, I don't think I'll be interesteed.

I would LOVE to see a Fourth Succession War miniseries. Mech action, political intrigue, line soldiers to House royalty. Could be epic.

That will depend on the script. And yes, I believe that a generic MW5 or HBS Battletech storyline ain't going to work. As far as a script and concept, that's going to take some work and approval.

I am merely pointing that there is a decent way of bringing out a mech oriented series into the screen. The rest is up to the writing.

Seems rather obvious at this point, CGI is what they use these days.

It's not like they're going to actually animate a hand-drawn battlemech, or use lego stop-motion.

I recently just went back to Dota 2, after watching the Netflix show. It's pretty good actually, Marci is best girl, Mirana didn't feel like a stuck-up entitled hero and is actually fun. Luna's a stuck-up genocidal ***** whose actually somewhat yandere.

I've played Dota for over 10k hours, it was very hard for me to refuse her, but I'm happy that I could do it, because Dota is a drug.
The Dota anime on Netflix is a brilliant idea, after watching this anime, nostalgia took me, but I was able to resist it Posted Image
If PGI can do anything like that, it will give the game a lot of fresh blood. But, firstly, I don’t believe PGI, they do everything against the community, and secondly, as long as T4 players get into T1 games, newbies will not stay in the game for a long time - because not everyone loves mazahism Posted Image

The 1985 and 86 anime Fang of the Sun Dougram seems to have been the basis for Battletech's setting with its political intriques and realistic conflicts of interest. The designs for the Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Woverine, Thunderbolt, Battlemaster, Goliath and Scorpion are from that show. A sequel would be amazing and probably the closest thing to BT that Japanese markets could handle at least.

Unfortunately one of the creators of that show is already dead and the other has been in retirement for a long time. There haven't been others ambitious enough to make something at the same scale since, and with how stingy production and animation studios are with their budgets these days, I don't think anyone would fund that kind of ambition either anymore.
