Yeah, turns out was impersonating a Mechwarrior on Blackstone to romance a Big shot's daughter, when in fact he is just a 2nd level Ferro repair-tech so I doubt the mighty Jarl would know of him, much less a hardened Pilot like yourself. Hey since were just mates talking here; I ran into an old colleague of my Capt. Scope a couple days ago on Viridian and it turns out we were interrupted before we could finish our conversation. I had to move on pretty quick, but I'd sure like a chance to pick up where we left it off. Heard any word of the old scoundrel? (he says while topping off you drinks)

Well thanks, that's damn helpful of you, so was that Capt Scope or Chronolog and which KPU exactly? I'm only asking because of course I'd like to what I can do to help get either one of them out there, outside the mines, barbedwire, and 24/7 security cameras... to talk you know.

Sandstrom ground his teeth as he watched the Dropship carryig Capt. Scope and his mech liftoff. "Next time" muttered the bountyhunter as the ship accelerated through the clouds of River City. He had cut a deal with his target, using Scope's skills and armor to take down the notorious River Rat in exchange for letting the disgraced officer leave the planet with a headstart of two sols.

It was the kind of nesscary evil that Sandstrom had to accept on occasion. When a target as dangerous as The Rat hides himself in three lances battlemechs you have to think laterally, and since The Rat's bounty was twice that of Scope it was a deal Dale had to cut.

Sandstrom headed across the Ferrocrete to start the needed repairs and to rearm The Darkdeath, but after making that kind of deal he felt like he needed a shower first...

STILL LOOKING FOR HARRY HOPI

Sandstrom sighed as he watched the Bushwacker's frame shudder and collapse on the steep snow covered slope and become instantly shrouded in a thick mixture of smoke and steam as the red-hot wreckage hit the snow.

Dale had followed Harry Hopi up into the Alpine peaks after tracking him to three different planets. 6 months ago Harry had gotten paid out by his underwriters on Twycross after his Bushwacker had been "lost" to the Diabolis on that hot desert planet. His claim had stated that enormous never-ending dust storm that roamed Twycross had caught his patrol lance unexpectedly and buried the bushwacker so deep that it was irretrievable. The smoking ruins of the Bushwacker here said elsewise, someone who had helped Hopi secretly get the Bushy off-planet back on Twycross had talked... someone always talks.

As soon as word got to the Underwriters, they slapped a 350k c-bill bounty on Harry's head, along with +10% market price for whatever parts were recoverable of the Bushy when he was brought in.

To their credit and doom, Harry's lance refused to give him up... and they all paid the price to the last man. Unfortunate... but now it was going to be a pretty great day for salvage as well as bounties Sandstrom thought later in the day as he dismounted the Darkdeath and gingerly made his way across the re-freezing snow and ice, waving away the smell burnt Ferro and hyrdal fluids.

As the smoke cleared, Dale used a broken armor plate to dig out around the cockpit to find the yellow and black bordered ventral escape panel already discharged out onto the ice, leaving the cockpit looking like a grinning one-eye hound's head. Sandstrom cursed as he surveyed the empty cockpit and began calling out to the rest of the lance to search for Hopi... knowing in his heart that he had waited too long in his warm mech, and now the crafty pilot had given him the slip and could be dug-in and hiding anywhere in this Alpine wilderness by now.

Dale rubs his eyes in the white glare and shivered in the brutal cold... "Damn you Hopi, I hope you bloody freeze to death..."

Sandstrom sat perched on the left foot of the ASN-DD, while a crew of overpriced techs ran diagnostics up in the cockpit trying to sync the Autocannon with the Darkdeath's new improved optics. On his lap, his tablet was opened to the "HMWT" (Have Mech Will Travel inc) news site, the digital rag was filled with ads selling gear that only a moron would mount on his rig, pills for 'male enhancement', and poorly sourced new stories about various small system battles and gossip of the mercenary world...

The only reason Dale, or really anyone with half a brain read it was for the section that posted new and still open Bounties, and today the section was running glacially slow because of all the traffic on it drawn by one offering:

Sandstrom groaned as he rubbed his eyes, "bloody hell!" he muttered. 82 open no contract bounties was going to cause a lot of chaos across the Inner Sphere, every rookie and seasoned Mechjock was going to be gunning for bounties first and following orders second... Madness, Blake's Bucks level madness!

Then again, thought Dale, who better to take the lion's share of those bounties in than him and the Darkdeath?

Closing the tablet down, he stood up and yelled "Wrap it up you lousy nerdherding groundpounders!" at the tech team high above him, "I'm lifting off in 45 minutes, with or without you in the cockpit"
