Easy Game Mode Ideas

Some game mode ideas i'd like to see, even if they are temporarily brought in from time to time:

-24 player, all for one, epic battle mode where all weapons are nerfed 50% (or armour buffed 50%) and everyone is out for themselves. Kinda like demolition derby but with mechs.

-4v4 lights/mediums battle mode (like scouting but without the flags to pick up).

-12 v 12 but everyone drops in the same mech/loadout, chosen randomly at match start from a predetermined (player built/voted on?) list.

These are all modes that I don't think need too much programming and so are hopefully viable options for PGI's workforce capacity. Anyone else have some relatively easy to implement game mode ideas?

How do you know they don't need too much programming?

Are you a Cryengine Engineer?

I mean for starters the 24 player FFA is off the cards, PGI have repeatedly stated this year after year.

I just want to see Domination (i.e. KOTH) and Conquest removed, replacing them with a proper Domination mode. Three points equidistant from the spawns, sized a bit smaller than current Domination circles, with capture mechanics functioning in the vein of a hybrid system where standing in a point uncontested applies tickets towards victory but an empty point or a contested point supplies nothing.

Current Domination and Conquest both fail as objective modes -- the primary purpose of objectives is to alter how engagements happen. Domination makes zero difference, people still push center and nascar. Conquest is either Skirmish with point cleanup at the end or a cap-specced light mech ending the match with most of each team still alive.

We're not asking them to reinvent the wheel.. just tweak what's already there. Anyway, we're just tossing around ideas..

The programming is already there for scout mode.. so how hard is it to tweak it for 4v4 minus flags.. hell, leave the flags and make em do nuthin..

The rest don't require many new things.. if they can't handle these simple game modes then good luck to us all..

That's why these modes would be temporary... besides in theory player base should increase as the year progresses..

How about bringing back VIP mode but make VIP player controlled... simple, right ASH?

I've got plenty of ideas and as part of the Cauldron we are putting them forward regularly.

That doesn't detract from the fact you said something was easy but you can't actually prove it, especially when part of it PGI stated they cannot do. It can't be easy if they say they cannot do it.

Gamemode where everyone drops in a random trial mech.. maybe have it once or twice a year say on April fools and have an event to go with it..

This game needs more variety damn it..
