Every comp pilot is doing it already.
The only ones that do not use survival tree on the lights are the noobs, easy.
There is no competitive pilot in this world that uses a vulcan/wolfhound/commando and so on without survival tree.
And the funny thing is that people who complain getting one shot are usually the noobs that are not doing that.

Welp this conversation was civil.... as stated above.... FP is very different than QP. There are several big differences, one of the Big ones, is FP is very predictable.... QP is not.

Yet you did not defend your position with any facts?

Overall I like the agility changes alot but I dont understand why the Night Gyr still has to suffer in terms of agility? Give it similar agility like the Nova Cat because they are very close in terms of a weapon plattform. Just make it fun again to pilot it. With the actual comp changes it will still be unfun to pilot. 17 accleration for a heavy mech is still garbo when other 75t heavys have almost double.

edit: and give all assaults at least 90 degree torso twist range. No mech should have less than 90 in my opinion.

Same, odd how the night gyr hasn't gotten anything at all. Also wouldn't mind all mechs having at least 90 anyways unless its that much of a bugger to solve.

NTG has been given gains if you check the spreadsheet out.

Given the mech is basically a 75T Assault, ECM capable as well, it should be good.
It is also back to where it was in 2017 and no one said it was bad then, in fact it took nerfs to slow it down because it was that good Posted Image

The Night Gyr is being buffed. It's getting a 57.4% increase to its acceleration and will reach its top speed 1.55 seconds faster than it did before. Steve was just complaining that he didn't think it was enough of a buff.

Edit: Also, while I agree that going to 90° would have been better, the new minimum yaw angle for assaults is now going to be 85°, which is fine. This is a large improvement as some of the assaults like the Dire Wolf, Kodiak, and some of the Stalkers and Battlemasters had a yaw angle of 60°, freakin' 60.

Yep, among 35 and 30 ton lights, the Cauldron mobility pass has only the spider and a few variant of the jenner as being more agile than the Vulcan.

If they would to balance this correctly, only the urbie, kitfox, cougar, adder, and panther should be less agile than the Vulcan due to low engine caps. If you compare 40 to 45 tonners, the 35 tonners with the same role as the Vulcan should be 15% more agile than it. The 30 tonners should be 30% more when comparing 50 tonners to the Vulcan.

The vulcan doesn't have the raw speed of a light. It's 30-50kph slower than a light.

The question is why is it more agile than all 30 and 35 tonners with the same role as it? If it is "slower", why is it "faster"?

Because after a certain point, going faster should make it more difficult to stop on a dime, or make sharp turns, for example.
You can turn faster when you're jogging than when you're sprinting.

That's not how physics works. A faster sprinter usually has faster acceleration and deceleration than a slower sprinter.

But any engine can go 0-60 faster than it can go 0-90.

Yes and that is built into MWO, acceleration slows as you get closer to top speed. It doesn't explain why the "slow sprinter" vulcan has faster acceleration than the 20-30% faster sprinting lights.

Better gyros. Faster balance processors. Gold plated neurohelmet connection cables.

Headcanon however you want as long as the gameplay is fun.

Thanks for your reply. Just showing all interested that nerfing lights is what makes the game fun to to the people that play assaults.

It's only 5 tons heavier than a light, and those 5 tons are in its longer legs.
2.5 tons per leg. :)

There you go, not a single person who says lights are fine primarily plays lights.

Only the "light experts" in heavy or assault mechs lol. What was the quote? Oh yes.

I'm not arguing lights are fine or not, and I never claimed to be an expert.

I'm arguing I'm ok with vulcans being super agile, and I don't even own one.

You argued extensively that lights should not be more agile than the Vulcan.
