OK so I just jumped in into my Atlas... which twists like a light now?

Seriously guys, what are you smoking over there? I know it's Canada, but DAMN!

I just assume a few cauldron members got cut up by some Pirahnas and thus they had to act against the micro.

I definitely don't know who all the Cauldron guys are, but the ones I am aware of--Ash, Kraso, Dario, Navid, Bear Cl4w--are all skilled players and I can pretty much confirm for you that they are absolutely not concerned about or getting cut up by piranhas; Pirs die when you look at them and you hardly have to aim cause they aren't that tiny. This might not be apparent at the lower tier levels.

They should focus on making all the maps bigger. Bigger maps makes the speed of lights matter more. Anything that can be done to make lights more relevant should be done.

The Forest Colony map could be cut up into at least 2 or 4 slightly smaller maps, horizontal/vertical then corner to corner. There is so much of that map that is rarely used except for spawn spots.

So the Timber Wolf and the Jenner are SO... much better. With the Timber it was vastly better at avoiding and spreading damage. The Jenner didn't feel so fragile and I am keeping my arms the match. Canyon is very noticeable how many ramps and options for getting around now.

I was astonished at how a few mobility buffs would make the atlas fun again and it didn't even get a speed buff just better twisting and accel/decel. Played a few rounds with a dead side kraken fit(3 snubs ac20) and holy cow spreading damage is a breeze.

Making maps bigger doesn't solve this problem, it just makes it take longer for players to get into the fight. Look at Polar and Alpine, big maps but no one is fighting on the majority of the map with the exception of the occasional conquest match or last surviving light. Unless you incentivize using the rest of the map through objectives/game modes players are just going to group up and run at each other (or circle around each other in nascar).

it does for other gamemodes like conquest. the bigger the maps are the more valuable speed is in conquest.

skirmish has always been an inherently flawed gamemode because it biases mechs that do the most damage which is always going to be heavies and assaults. skirmish is the worst gamemode for lights and mediums. skirmish should not be the main gamemode IMO.

I'm definitely liking the look of this patch, all the least agile mechs re getting improvements, streaks are getting some love, and the 12+ energy hardpoint builds should be less popular.

im concerned some of the buffs went overboard. the timberwolf buffs combined with it getting ecm on the new variant seems too good to me. it makes me question why I would ever use the other clan 75 tonners.

PGI is just recreating the same problems that existed years ago that resulted in the timberwolfs agility getting nerfed in the first place.

Balancing in circles....

I might try the Jenner again. Until it gets nerfed again for the next six or so years. Or grind more on wow.

You make a fair point, we just have to hope that those circles are getting smaller each time until it homes in on the optimal balance spot.

Overall I think that the balance is getting better because more people are complaining on the forums - I know that sounds counterintuitive but I think that it's a feature of good balance that everyone moans about it.
