It's not fast and it tends to get chopped to pieces by lights.. I can't find a weapon set that really works and if it's not the lights it's the constant LRM rain.
I love my Mad Cats so would you recommend sticking with the Dire Wolf or looking at another Assault?

It is a matter of having the right loadout and using the right tactic.

I do not think that LRMs are the right loadout for the Daishi.

You can stick with the Daishi, if you already have it, but I suggest rearming it with Autocannons.

Never really enjoyed it much, but it's not awful. Don't try and join the nascar, pick your own lines.

I actually even bought one back later once I got an idea for a load out after the recent weapons balance pass.
Generally I agree, but selling a 'Mech should be the last option because:
1. You will not get the cost of the 'Mech back
2. You can never know if some quirks pass or new weapon will "improve" the 'Mech.

I had a similar experience. I sold a 'Mech that did not suit me from some reason, even though everybody agreed that it was great 'Mech.

- Never sell mechs
- Mobility and quirk patch updates still to come
DWF is not easy to play. Just slap a solid build on it - Dakka, Laser or Gauss/Laser and go to town.

What do you like about Timber Wolf, maybe those qualities are what you should look for in other Mechs.

It's not the easiest mech to play but it can be devastating, it just needs to have devastating loadouts.
2 GR, 2 ERLL, 6 ERML, (Can be done on all Prime omni-pods)
Same as above, but 2 LPL 4 ERML
2 UAC10, 3-4UAC5
You can play with an S side torso and put 2 LPLs up there, and then 2 Gauss and 6 ERML in the arms.
Just make sure you make the shots count and you should be able to shoo the light away. Except for the dumb ones, then they'll sacrifice it all just to ruin your match and then get one shot by someone else. They are kind of annoying like that.

As for loadouts - Dakka, Laservomit, Gaussvomit (this one slaps hard), 8AC2 if you've got the Ultraviolet.

Boat all the autocannons.
The smaller the better.
You can have 4lbx10's and so many lasers that one alpha will core just about any mech.
6 lbx 5's or 8 lbx2's are hilarious.
