I thought it was the keybind but no matter what i change it too they dont work. I havent played for awhile and thought maybe it was an upgrade you had to buy but didnt see anything

So... You're not able to get the black&white (or greyscale, depending on how you wish to refer to it) type of Heat Vision to operate at all for you? Have you run the MWO Repair Tool or used Steam's Game Cache Verifier upon your MWO installation?

(Also, if you're using MWO's Repair Tool, make sure the Options only have the last two items turned on. And make sure the main interface's checkbox is also unchecked while you're doing the scan. Otherwise, some currently unwanted and destructive things can occur very much by accident. )


Which reminds me... If you were here back in the days of colored Heat Vision and came back expecting to see it again, it so happens that PGI did away with that stuff a long time ago. Sorry.

im not sure, i see other players using it, its the black and white vision that shows hot objects, default was "H" but i changed it multiple times and it doesnt seem to work. So idk if im doing something wrong or its an upgrade I had to purchase

1a. Goto Testing Grounds (where there are no active enemies), and you can test your keybinds
[MechLab]>>[Home]>>[Testing_Grounds]>>[Canyon_Network]

While in [Canyon_Network], press [F1] to see YOUR customised MWO keybinds!
[Edit] Pressing [F1] only shows the "Default" Keybonds. Sorry for the confusion caused

1b. ALSO, while still in [Canyon_Network] testing grounds, press:
[Escape]>>[Settings]>>[Keyboard]>>[Vision]>>[Toggle_Night_Vision]
and select appropriate keybind for [Toggle_Night_Vision]

1c. If all else fails, goto [Settings]>>[Reset] to revert to all defaults (for keybinds, for vision, etc.)

I don't know how this is possible for you, but my own personal Never-Modded Vanilla Official MWO Game Installation will ONLY show the Default Keybinds when the "F1" Key is held down.

Are you sure that "H" is not assigned to something else?

Most likely this. And no, its not a thing you have to purchase. (Say what you will about PGI, but they have scrupulously avoided pay-to-play, and we appreciate that!)
