sounds like the damage got spreadout across the body its going to be hard for you to track something thats weaving around another mechs leg because you could see intel i am guessing non stealth/ecm
uac/10 apply damage over 2 shots maybe a few missed through sheer luck
commando assuming 20 damage was applyed(100% HP)0 skill)
arms 16/18 (0/14 orange? structure)
Shoulder 24/24/(4/24 red armor)
torso 32/26(12/26 orange? armor)
without a video i can only speculate

Strange enough there is a paradox where light pilots can't pilot asults worth a dam. I've got an atlas rs and suck balls in it no matter the meta or not build. It is quite simply too dam slow for me. Even the slowest clan at 81kph is slow to me. I have to have an fps display when in other mechs since I play lights so much I have to wonder if the game is messing up or my mech even moving.
Sadly I see a lot of lrm only builds in asults so I have a developed bias not to help them out. Many times not one single laser or tag but lrm or atm only when I spectate them while dead. The only time I help some one crying for locks is the catapult a1 since I know it has no hard points for tag.
As for most op light it is the light that gets ignored all match or that half the enemy team tries to chase down. While you're off after the bait the rest of the team just made it 11 vs 6 or whatever.

So you think you should be punished because your reflexes and eyesight are worse than other peoples? lol what?
that just sounds masochistic.

The natural degradation of the human body is unavoidable, it doesn't mean that you suddenly become disgusted by things that challenge those aspects of the human body that have become diminished. I think its actually kind of rude to think that just because through age or illness someone finds it harder to play that the entire player base should be punished and they be coddled.

Of course, the real question is whether I’m any BETTER at it now. On that… I plead the 5th.

how can any justify dumbing down any game because some old person is old ?
isn't that blatant Ageism ?
Oh no an other attack by the dreaded "ISMS"
soon we will all be old, do you really want to be treated like a child?

Nightbird,
I'll preface by saying I don't think "lights OP". I think I have gotten myself into situations where lights are at a significant advantage while playing an assault, sure, but I'm smart enough to know that doesn't mean "lights OP".
However, the use percentage is not a good indication of how good lights are. Lights could be OP as **** and I would still use assaults more. I like big guns, i like different combinations of big guns. I "grew up" in the days of the Dragon Slayer with PPCs and AC5s. I don't like bringing out XL Highlanders and Victors in quick play because they are OP (because god knows they ain't). I just like them.
I'm just saying, you can show stats all you want but that's not really a fully objective argument. IMO, lights can have their game ended very quickly (and you can usually trace that ending to a very specific mistake the you, the player, made), but if used properly can be such a nuisance that they don't allow assaults to put out as much pain as they could otherwise, which is why many players get butthurt. That doesn't make them OP, it just means that in a team setting, they did a great job of doing some damage while preventing the red team from doing damage by forcing them to deal with you. Its not nearly as simple as match score and use percentages.
I also gotta say... its nice being so fast that you don't automatically get ganked from behind like you do in a slow assault.

Dude its a real time shooter, that is actually slower paced then most. Reflexes and eyesight are obviously part of it, and if you think that reflexes and eyesight shouldn't factor into a first person shooter PvP game, then your expectations are just off, and you should stick to HBS' Battletech and MechWarrior 5.

to add
there are aids to help like changing colours, font sizes, better accessability options ect but adding nerfs to one side of a age group alienates the other
so if this is a proper case options need to be explored/expanded if they have not been already (have not looked 1;00am here)
(nerfing a class because say 60% of player population is 40+ is not a encouraging sign of game player growth because who replaces said people when they eventually quit)

No, but I also don't think I need any sort of buff just because I'm not as good at the game because of them. The point I'm making Khobai, that you seem very keen to avoid understanding as per usual, is that someone's age is just as poor an excuse for not knowing how to play properly as anything else.
Do I need my eyesight to know how to put my back to something and call for help if I get caught out by a light?
Do my reflexes matter for knowing I shouldn't wander off on my own when I'm in an Assault mech because that may as well strap a sign to my head saying 'ENEMY LIGHTS COME KILL ME PLS'?
Do either of those things matter for knowing what the mech I'm piloting should be doing in order to effectively deal with an attacking enemy light if someone else calls for help?
I could go on but I think I've made my point.

Nightbird wasn't using the use percentages to say whether or not light mechs are good. He was merely noting that a pair of players claiming light mechs were OP had rarely to never actually even played the so-called "OP lights".

Fair enough, in the post in question, I just know he has used the fact that lights are the least used class to support the assertion that lights are too weak.

Man even light pilots are trying to explain that these are broken but nope.. these are ignored.. Fleas, Locusts, Piranhas and spiders even some slow lights are as powerful as assaults..
Edit
forgot two Arctic Cheetah and Mist Lynx

... Did you unironically just say the spider is as strong as assaults?

Also, for "some slow lights," that only applies to the Urbie K9 variant with the 5 MPL build.

explain to me right now how the Spider, a 30-ton mech with at most four ballistic hardpoints, is as powerful as an assault.
