I purchased MW5 about a week ago and enjoyed it immensely until it told me it was going to auto-download a massive 12gb patch. Roughly 20 hrs later (DSL) it finished and when I went to launch it, I received an error dialogue that said:
"Plugin 'OculusVR' failed to load because 'OculusHDM' could not be found. Please ensure the plugin is properly installed, otherwise consider disabling the plugin for this project."
Two issues - I can't disable the plugin if the game won't load, and the fact that I've NEVER HAD OCULUS RIFT or any other type of VR device installed on my PC. I tried removing all mods, then tried uninstalling the entire game and re-downloading it all fresh, which didn't work either. The game refuses to move past the message popup since the patch. Please tell me there's some sort of workaround, as this is really, really frustrating, and I still haven't heard back from tech support.

Issue With Last Patch/oculus Rift Plugin Issue.

why have a plugin if there is no official vr support? might be a remnant of an unfinished feature pgi dropped to make the deadline. makes me wonder if there is a way to actually use an hmd in the game via a mod or some such.

I have read sometimes disabling Steam VR in your GPU Driver solves problems like this one.

Err....how I go about doing that in the Nvidia driver? Not seeing anything listed that looks like it's for SteamVR or VR in general...

Well, i own a Radeon GPU and there is a setting for Steam VR integration that can be enabled/disabled.
How Nvidia handles Steam VR integration is outside of my knowledge...
Somewhere it needs to be supported i guess...

Apparently they don't lol. Worth a shot though. It was a better idea than I had before.

They did remove oculus plugin files recently and it sound like its related to that in this instance

You could look in the game folder and see what's going on there with those. They should be gone. The entire oculus folder shouldn't be there.
If there's nothing there then you shouldn't be having a problem. Don't know how you got into that situation.
You could always try grabbing those files from another game with oculus support or something and adding them in your backwards weird game install lol.
Yeah, none of those files or folder exist, but it sounds like it won't load because it's looking for them. I'm so glad Steam autopatched this for me, since it was working fine before. I don't think any of my games have oculus support either, so I'm screwed either way. I don't even have SteamVR installed.
