been thinking, its been a while i literally only use 3 pilots all the time, they're 60/60 and rarely get injured. It's a bad sad that we can have a roster of limitless pilots and you basically just need 3, along with the ronin pilots that we never use-- find those 60 skill pilots that its end game, and sadly that happens too early on the game, too.

So, using the same folks over and over makes em' have skill penalties, push it too far and they need a break and cannot be deployed for a set period of time.

Compared to Battletech that MW5Mercs has the Mission Duration time which lasts sometimes very long and i would argue that Pilot fatigue is handled with when having only 1 Mechfight every 6 to 20+ days.

Yeah, injuries could be a tad more, i have not had a single injury (nor death) in 1100 days of ingame fighting.

Well there are more than often multiple contracts or multi-deployment missions, sure this game deals with a lot of time passing by, however i noticed that the shortest of the jumps costs 13 days, a lvl 1 fatigue for 14 days, or 2 weeks, would at very least deny going to nearby systems for fatigue reset as they would still be 1 day off, sure you can wait that, though it should increase as much as up to 3 months depending on the abuse.

another way i was thinking, per deployment fatigue, each non deploy reduces it by a lvl, which would require for a roster rotation, sure a bit less realistic but doable imho, the perma lance thing falls a bit... short, so many pilots, so many portraits, so many skills, not enough reasons to have more than 3-5 pilots

Its not only the jump duration, you have Missions that last 20+ days...while having 1 fight...

And i got my first injured Pilot (out for 73 days) as his Enforcer somewhow lost its CT...everything else was still there and reasonably armored.

I agree that Pilot management should be an even deeper and more rewarding gameeplay element!

Considering they get days, weeks, and months off when the mechs are in the shop, or when in interstellar transit... HELL NO!

I IRL worked 6 days a week, 8 hour shifts, both mental and physical work, I know people who work 6 days a week, 12 hour shifts.. And we only get 20 days paid leave a year! So, if I'm paying you 10000+ cbills a month, you' gonna survive those 15 minutes you're actually in the cockpit of a mech getting shot at once a week!

Compared to you and me, or to an average police officer, trust me, Mech jock Mercs have it good, living the good life.. They don't need no fatigue system.

uh... thats oversimplifying the need for the system but okay...

I want to spend less time in menu's and more time in a mech so no. At least not unless they offer both ways.

you're missing the point, no day will be spent out a mech, it's just to encourange pilot hiring and rotation instead of using the same 3 guys again and again.

The only rotation is Injuries by now and as i have gone into some Mission way underpowered i have had 3 Pilots injured so far in something around 1500 ingame days.

That is 1 injury every ~17 ingame months which is extremely low and to me a little more pilot management would be part of the big picture gameplay of being in the lead of a Merc Unit.

I went into the Kuritan Hero Mech rank 6 quest 80tons underweight at the second last step and my only heavy Mech (Warhammer) so far got so shredded only 2 legs were left (yet the Pilot only had i think 47 days of injurytime).
I made it out of that mission on my last legs barely achieving the main objective and had estimated repair costs of 6Million plus.
Normally i would not have done it so ill prepared but i wanted to see what happens if i do a difficulty 70 Mission with 1 Heavy and 3 Meds.
I could have bought some Mechs but i want to try it with salvaged/rewarded Mechs and Weapons/Equipment only.

When you go into combat with maximum tonnage and equipment it should get even less injurytime for your Pilots making it a non factor.
