Marketing for MW5 needs ramping up.
www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-pc-games
PC Gamer updated online article listed a MW5 competitor game in its "Strategy" section, but did not include MW5.
Game sites like Gamespot (www.gamespot.com) did not even mention that MW5 has been launched in Steam/GOG/Xbox. (Its last article is still end-2020 saying that MW5 launch delayed due to cyberpunk).
So is "Sold Out" of EG7 group in charge of MW5 marketing (or the lack thereof)?
Or is PGI still in charge of MW5 marketing?
MW5 is simply not being mentioned in the major gaming sites?

Don't think it will be and I believe some players like it that way.
The problem with more marketing is more criticism. Despite fixing some problems, the DLC still did not fix others but it appears some people playing believe only mods made by others should fix them that is a completely different approach than most other games take. This has the problem of encouraging lazy development and lower expectations leading to frustration among people in gaming both players and devs. Remember other games have gotten more marketing than this and look what happened, so many examples *cough* such as Cyberpunk that I never bought *cough*.
There is also what appears to be some players concerned with false advertising from game review companies.
Yet the DLC cannot take back the reviews left by players already both on sites where the game is sold and some of those who left them may never come back to change them, while not politics it is similar to the gaming and politics issue I have seen growing lately.
I only recently found out Microsoft removed ALL reviews from their store for ALL the things, the main MW5 had a middle of the road rating but now it and the DLC have none. I found a topic discussing this, the responses speak for themselves. GOG has controversy on their review section for several of their games, Steam probably does too, Epic has a middle rating for the main game and you cannot find the DLC through Epic store search.
YouTube and probably other sites have plenty of really critical review vids still up, I saw a lot of them before getting it. At the time of this post Twitch has people playing but the highest views is 44 on one channel and less streamers using MW5 than other games though HBS Battletech has less than that.
If by competitor game you mean HBS BattleTech, sorta yes and no. HBS did their Beta different, they actually put out effort to fix bugs through that and across all the DLCs though they got a LOT of them early before any DLCs came out, completely different than MW5. HBS also did not use popular choices for game engines like Unreal or Unity, never saw a mention of whose they used but it makes modding or even just peeking into data easier. For example, you can see weapon damage is balanced not only in game but by accessing files through a simple program publicly available and HBS also made sure to keep modifying the balance of weapons throughout all the time they were working on the base game and DLCs.
MW5 balance is messed up, while mention of this has been passed on to devs no word yet if anything will be done. So far I only know of 2 things they are planning to fix since I sent them and got more than the usual reply of 'my bug report was passed on to the right people.'

Well, as i have the GoG.com Version and several other games on GoG - the player ratings these days seem to fall victim to all sort of love/hate cmapaigns and only half of them reflect actual user experiences.
Its ridiculous that Epic-Users did go to GoG and downrate the game for its state several months ago and for them not receiving some sort of "special founder treatment".
So you either do monitor your "Player Ratings" quite intensively or you better get rid of them instead of being "campagined".
Cyberpunk simply put out word and promises they did not meet and it was CDPRs conscious decision to do so and they deserve every ounce of criticism for that they got - only that it was not allways directed at the right people.
Cyberpunk is mismanagement and the criticism should aim at the decisonmakers and not the workers!
Which MW game ever had a good balance?
For MW5, a Single Player/Coop game the gameplay experience is paramount to the fair balance ideal which not even happens in PVP games and to me the game so far came out much better than i expected with some quest outright very good and most maps nicely done.
I would rather play a MW5 map if i ever entertained the thought to play MWO regularily again than a premade MWO map.
In conclusion most of the game rankings today are not purely experience based (and ofc each experience could lead to a different judgement of the game as each individual has individual affectations) but more a popularity/vote mobilization contest respectively a hate/vote mobilization contest.
I give **** about them!

There's other games suffering besides Cyberpunk.
As for MW5, weapon performance does matter and in its current state it is off.
When you have people giving advice that 2 weapons are way better than others, that is a problem.
When you have certain Mechs not being good choices, that is another problem.
When you have a lot of issues needing attention, that is a REALLY big problem.
AI - despite improvements still needs work.
2 different Difficulty ratings in use.
Why at certain points of the game do you get quests you are not in a position to do such as Crimson Crusade.
Yet another game with tiny text and bad control design (hard to grab sliders and scroll bars).
Airstrikes are only really useful in Demolition missions, maybe Beachhead.
Some weapon stats are irrational.
Some variants in game make no sense at all.
Heat Sink mixing.
Co-Op system needs improvement.
No real reason for moving about in human mode on the dropship.
Turning bug from MWO also exists in MW5.
Map bugs.
List goes on.

Yeah, there is room for improvement in certain areas mentioned.
Crimson Crusade i have had no bad experience with in the 2 or 3 times i did it
(in fact i enjoyed the quest plenty)
Sliders and some text indeed to small
I dont use Airstrikes/Artillery as i feel they have either not the tactical or strategic mobility of the Mechs that quite often fight at the most remote places imagineable where support is simply not available in time
Heat Sink mixing is ok to me
Yeah, in Dropship movement is sorta superficial but at least you get the impression of diminutiveness
I had a few floating rubble occasions but that was it, 1 time i got stuck on a map
Aside the sometime arcade like setup of a misson in regard to the incoming waves of enemies i have little issues with the game...

pgi didnt do any favors for its early epic adopters, the ones that did not cancel their pre-orders. but i dont see any reason taking that out on gog. they aren't the ones screwing over their own customers. the platforms are not responsible for the failures of the developer. if you want to punish pgi for being pgi, do a class action or something and leave the innocent parties out of it.
that said pgi really ought to give their early adopters a half off coupon or something if they want to reap any other future early adopters and/or not get sued.

Well, did the preorders that then were to get the game on EPIC not get a substantial amount of goodies on both MWO and MW5 with it?
For example:

and
MWO: Forums - Mw5 Community Pre-Order Bonus Mwo Mech Loadouts (mwomercs.com)
