Worth Coming Back?

Between the abysmal stomp rates and the impending shift to PPFLD game-play, I found my spirit broken, leading me towards a self-imposed exile by way of the dark periphery. But even in solitude, I hear stories of the ravages of war within the sphere and of the petty bickering between the clans.
As I take a knee before you, I ask you to challenge a weary warrior and inspire him back to battle. Hit me with your best reasons to come back. Whether your shots land true or fly wide due to the transcendent state I have entered with my mech is down to fate's roll of the dice.

Then again there are a lot of things that have been changed that may provide a feeling of uniqueness, or just give a lot of old stuff a veneer of novelty that might inspire you to bring something you haven't played in years out for a few matches.
For example: the changes to light PPCs (no minimum range and can now fire three without ghost heat) give a lot of lighter builds new and even interesting builds; and they are hilarious to boat in large numbers. Snubs are now a legit choice too (they do more damage but spread). Light Gauss is now more fun and a more reasonable choice to equip now (more damage for a start). I've yet to full appreciate this last months agility buffs on more than a few mechs, but they look to make a lot of the dross potentially useful again (looks at Firestarter). Next month there is to be a buff to jump jets that I for one am looking forward too, and sometime after that a quirk pass.
If you want to experience some of the recent improvements, then by all means come back and give them a try.
Oh, also they redid Canyon (more bridges) and Polar (now more like Canyon), so there is that.

But if it's not for you - then it still may not be.
To the best of my knowledge we do not have any information to suggest stomp rates have improved over time. PPFLD is still around.

Oh wait... we're probably in different PSR Tiers

But seriously, things are fun, new mech variants are coming out every few months, even ECM Dire Wolf, and ECM Timber Wolf!
GOOD times

Well.
You're not going to crush anyone if you're not shooting. And you're not gonna shoot if you're not playing.

In any way, game's still very much fun to me, the recent developments stirred the pot quite nicely.
