They really need to get a daily mission system set up if they want to boost population on a consistent basis. The normal events are nice but you only have to play a few games a week over their long time limit to get the goods. Daily missions mean daily log ins.

I hate that map. They had to actually put the event to make people play it... It is laughable.

Lets face it, it is bad. You have gullies channeling people toward the center. Which is i depression, and surrounded with structures. It is Solaris with snow.

No comment on the Polar redesign, only played it a handful of times so I'm still making up my mind on it, so far I'm leaning towards saying it's a good and much needed change. Not why I'm posting here though, since this thread title is regarding the event...

WHY THE F**K is there an event goal for losing a match? This is seriously just dumb. Not complaining because it's difficult to get or anything, on the contrary it's real easy to get...once you get a match on Hibernal, just do everything you can to suck. Don't try to do your best, don't even just hang back for fire support...literally just rush into the enemy team ASAP and die without firing a shot. All it takes is like 2-3 people on your team to do this and it's virtually a guaranteed loss. Why are we incentivizing losing with this event? This is seriously just stupid. Dumb event goal, just f**king dumb. PGI, please do better.

imagine not being able to complete an event because in your matches on polar you get thrown into a winning team constantly

The reward for losing is just Snowflake, you can do without....

And who said PGI didn't have a sense of humor... a reward for people what want a reward for losing... snowflake... perfect

Agreed. I could see people getting upset if it was something like MC or CBills, since people might actually be willing to throw a game for it, but I can't see there being many people who would throw a match over a hanging item. And if they do, well the one they win is kind-of insulting them for it.

For those who enjoy fire and maneuver, aren't threatened by having to adapt to new situations, don't find being a brainless lock-on missile turret to be stimulating, like to employ tactics other than mindless running in a circle...the new Polar Highlands is a godsend. For all others, I feel no sympathy. Thank you a million times over, Francois.

My only complaints about this particular event are:

(1) If you're going to make rewards dependent on playing a specific map, then make damned sure the map comes up in the rotation more often than one in ten drops. I've been trying to get the thing for two days and am still struggling for one last win. The few times it does appear, the potatoes (see above) are likely to vote for Mining or HPG or something equally familiar and stale. And the even fewer times I actually get the map the teams are up to the usual standard of skill and its another loss.

(2) Rewards for a LOSS? I get the joke but it's not like they need encouragment.

Only played one match on the new polar, and it was a Tie, LUL

Took me 16, though I never voted for one, to get 5 victories. Basically, 16 completely identical games as the tactic is involved.
