Id Like To Apologize For My Negativity

I look back all these years and realize maybe I was a little too negative. I should be looking on the bright side because passionate people are working on improving the game. Its just hard being me and wishing every game was 8vs8 skirmish, and I don't have the time to do custom games or setup lobbies. I just want to hit the button to play and search for fun, like we have been doing all these years. So my apologies to all the players, to PGI, for being a negative nancy! The game is still fun in places, and alot of people have turned this game into a labor of love! I will try and enjoy it as much as I can! Heres to MWO Online and the players! Huzzah and happy 4th!

HuH?
Name one mech that they increased the top speed of? The Cauldron only increased the agility aspects of mechs, torso twist, accel/decel and pitch, but not top speed, so your claim of assault mechs dying before they get to the fight because of these changes is just wrong.
If anything I've found that there are more sneaky bois wandering the battlefield looking to gank assaults which means assaults get to the fight faster than medium and heavy mechs.

other game devs have done questionable things i dont like, but pgi takes it to the extreme. i like to think i am fair though and do point out when they did something right or when the community is being **** about something that is fine. but a couple rights dont make up for a thousand wrongs. but when they do something right i usually buy something.
as for the negativity. its pretty obvious that im a nihilist, but i like to remind people that zero is not a negative number.

Most folks like to think that of themselves. Me? I try to be fair, but I honestly have, at best, a very hazy idea if I am at all successful at it. A lot of folks think they are fair, but are little more than callous jerks. Some folks make a genuine effort, but fail all the same (props for at least trying, though). Most of us, I think, are inconsistent in both effort and results. A few are consistent in effort and results, but they are rare to the point that I don't think I've ever actually met one of them.
As for PGI, I don't think they are particularly bad, as gaming companies go. Yes, Russ has a bad habit of over-promising and under-delivering. I think that's because he's got just a little too much enthusiasm and salesmanship to be the company's public face. Strikes me as the guy you want being the pitchman when you are looking for funding, but after that keep him away from public speaking unless you have a script and a short leash on him. (I think Russ has learned a bit of this over the years, which explains the various efforts and personalities involved in community management over the past few years.)

It looked better, it played better, and this isnt nostalgia speaking because I was already upset at the downgrades to the game that came when the Cicada released. Thats when knockdowns and I think inverse kinematics went away. Then graphics kept getting worse, then clan power creep destroyed the slugfest that was MWO classic and turned it into the World of Tanks on legs mediocrity it still is today.

Seriously... well said. The people who are most passionate about the game shout the loudest, and its nice to step back every once in a while and realize that we're agonizing over the game in support of it rather than against it.

seeing as i bought both the new varient packs alread, i like to think that i have put my money where my mouth is. there are those who haven't dropped a dime on the game(s) pgi has delivered and still complain, and then pat themselves on the back for being "fair". im not one of those. an untested virtue may as well not exist (not that i claim to have any).
i agree about russ, the ceo doing the marketing work seems to indicate an excess of micromanagement which i hope doesn't bleed into other areas within the company. if it does that would certainly explain a lot of the problems the game has had. taken steps like including the cauldron also seems to indicate that they have learned from that mistake and have made appropriate changes internally. though i really think they need to scale up their current level of content production before the population tanks again.

Slugfest? Implying that games were somehow... Slower? Sir, the Splatcat and its little known cousin SRM-8R would like to have a swift word with your centre torso.

Props to you for saying this. While I find MWO games to be pretty alright, I am always appalled at the incredibly negative forums. Wish more people like you were around

Right!
Yet we still only have at best a primitve idea what "Zero" fundamentally is...
It's an SLDF aerospace fighter, named after an atmospheric fighter used on ancient Earth.

Honestly as dangerous as a splatcat was during the SRM splash-bug age, in my recollection they were only super frightening when you bumbled into one or got caught alone. In general, it was very easy to rip their ears off and leave them crippled. Catapult aint got the hitboxes for brawling so I didnt have much issue with them in my dragon or even my awesome. Back then I used to Brawl in an Awesome 9m. Shows how much times have changed lol.

If the team was passive and impotent, and missed several opportunities, I will tell you so.
Maybe this is cultural thing, but I was raised to say it as it is, and not to smile pointlessly when things are bad, as seem that many westerners do.
