Hi,
Just a little "to newbies from a newbie" kind of guide about faction warfare and it's wonderful rewards.
https://www.reddit.c..._free_mechbays/
Deliberately linked the reddit topic, because I'm constantly finetuning it based on the feedbacks, and you can see the discussion what might give a better view on my very optimistics approach.
But in 3 days, I got like 5 mechbays, so it might worth the attention.
And I really hope with increased visibility faction warfare gets a bit more popularity among the newcomers....

Yup. A good route to take, just be warned, some of us know what we're doing, so you might have some swingy matches.

Thanks for the comment. And indeed, pros can make a huge difference, but if those pro's are on my side (50% chance anyway) than its even better

Sure, it's more of an advanced tactics guide than a straight up here's how the game mode works. But yeah, I wrote it for folks to read.

The post makes no reference to the clear and strong warning screens about Faction Play. That is less than ideal.
It additionally makes no note that it will not be remotely fun for new users, who when facing strong opposition, are likely to lose almost all their matches and on top of that cbills will come in at a much reduced rate.
New players unless they have 8 fully build and 91 skills into their mechs are going to have a very, very bad experience overall in Faction Play.
What should be promoted is not the freebies, rather 'aim to achieve XXX - then go play Faction for some added rewards'.

Just "discourage" your information-is-ammunition hungry newbies not to bring Lurms in CW/FP. If they can't avoid then, just limit it to 1 and there should be no more a lance worth of lurmers at any given time. Heck, nobody should bring Lurms in attacking in Siege matches especially in Grim Pornico.
If they really want to do long range fighting, yes the ERLL's is a way better and reasonable option.

Meanwhile I included a pretty good guide suggested by commenters from Yondu Udonta upon deck building - indeed no LRMs there - and strategies. Do you still think LRM should be expicitely mentioned as not to bring?
Just a question regarding battle type: is it possible to find out BEFORE the deck selection and joining the queue that what kind of battle (siege or just a normal random style conflict) will come - or even better, what map we will play on? [/color]

Nope. Once you get the match it'll give you a minute to switch decks or even switch out mechs in your drop deck. I myself just rebuild my dropdeck once I've seen the map and mode.

With a fedrat background.. !!!! It can be clicked off but can be brought back up by the player by clicking on the icon blue/white icon with the lower case "i " in the lower left corner of the Innersphere map.
As previously noted having newbies drop into FP without any serious prep while expecting a MM is setting them up for a hard slap and failure, potentially scarring them for the duration of their stay with MWO, never to touch FP again. It is a harsh wakeup call when, not if, they face off experience players, more so when said players are of a unit which actually work together to win.
Essentially it is akin to having players join a raid in the newest expansion while equipped with group gear and spells from several expansions old.

Just make sure that you do not "buy" Scouting drop decks.
There are no more Scouting missions anymore (for now).
