Yeah Tier 5.75 Bud.

5-10 OK games puts you into Tier 4.

Why you are seeing CADETS is they are Grouped with higher tier players. I have seen this myself first hand as the MM basically averages the PSR, from what people can tell.

Ah. That explains it.then. Thanks. I stated thinking that maybe the tier advancement (that some claim is hundreds of games/nigh impossible) was happening even faster than I suspected.

You know what would be cool? Do a MWO/Catalyst ultimate battletech world championship where you have to do MWO AND tabletop (Alphastrike probably - 12 v 12 classic -- that would take 3 days) for the TRUE master of the realm. All the game are already here it's just a matter of org and will.

Then again I am probably full of shi

From what I understand of the formula- your maximum PSR increase, whilst not strictly capped, maxes out at around 34 points for an exceptional match. Starting at 750, as Ash said, 5-10 good matches to get to 4, but another +30 to get to 3, which means without getting dragged up they can't make it to the 3 tier spread for MM and see tier 1s naturally whilst <25 matches.

The maths also means that Vxheous could notionally have achieved tier 1 in ~100 games if he'd played super meta. He sat at around +17.5 PSR on average for this run.

Yeah, ~100 games is probably doable, but it would have to be a crazy run (win or lose, always 1K damage games type). I think Stimraug did Tier 3.5 -> Tier 1 on the first PSR reset in 41 games.

Its hard to climb tiers when theres little incentive to do so. Warhorns, hangables, mountables, camos, paints, patterns unique to those tiers would be cool to get and maybe a few other missions in each tiers to unlock more rare stuff (obviously more challenging as you go up the tiers).

I have had a similar experience, only thing is I am not as good of a player and am not as competitive and I refuse to budge from the cockpit of the ANH-2A. There is something about the games that you win and how you win them that sets the mech apart from the rest... even the atlas has a hard time against it, especially at range... I started the account and got an ANH-2A as soon as I could, I even used the event free mech bay at the time. I proceeded to gain another 2 identical mechs, so I had 3. I really like to play short games, most of the time. If I spend 3 mins in a match and only get 500 dmg... all in all that is still a win, most of the time (we are talking about pure carnage here). On a highlight: if you do this at least you will a) start the game in an assault mech Posted Image have a lot of mechs to shoot, until you get to Tier 1 and c) have fun and then exit match, after you die to enter, yet another ANH-2A to lead the charge in a 52 kmph mech. Due to the nature of the environment, owning an assault mech may result in an excessive amount of stomps and 1000+ dmg matches. To play like this is the exact opposite of playing conservatively, it is reckless and dangerous, fraught with heart-racing battles. If you want to do even more damage, take some cover and wait a little bit for the rest of your team to pull off some shots, so you can join in with them... not the other way around where you shoot the enemy and then are left looking around, wondering where all your team members are...

There should be no incentive to be in a higher Tier. It's for matchmaking purposes ONLY. Optimally it should help people play against people of similar skill.

There are already too many players who angst about not being in the tier they are convinced they deserve because they see themselves as the second coming of Kai Allard Liao.

Heck we could just hide it from the players completely and it could serve it's function. If you start tying bells and whistles to being in a higher tier people will angst even more and engage in perverse (in the economic sense) behaviors to try and force themselves up tiers to the detriment of their win loss ratio and presumably enjoyment of the game.

I'm not in the cauldron, and I don't represent anyone, other than myself. Saying that the vast majority of the players in this game is pretty average is not being dismissive of them, it's simply stating my opinion. There's also nothing wrong with being average, it just means you're average. I'm average at a lot of things (running being one of them, nothing wrong with that).

So making this post was just a humble brag ?

No, I already explained why I made this post. I don't have to brag about anything, I've already achieved what only 50 other players in the history of the game has achieved.

There shouldn't be any incentive to do so. It's not a progression system, it's a matchmaking system. Prior to the change it was a progression system, which made no sense as every scrub made tier 1 and matchmaking was pointless.

Play faction if you want progression rewards of some sort and enjoy getting farmed.

Attitudes like this is what makes straight up hiding tier not a bad sounding idea.

there's already a reward for climbing much better then some tinsel, you got to play with and against better players and learn from that.

But I want to pound beers and just fire missiles as far away as possible and act like I'm back in muh army days, playing against good players stops me and a portion of the playerbase doing that! /s
