Salesman: "Poor Mechwarrior.
Did you just get a Dire Wolf?
Do you not have the Ultraviolet Hero to make a 8 cAC2 build with?
Do you play in Puglandia QP where most people cannot use Gauss maybe including you?"

"Worry no more because you can now for little cost in CB have your own sweet ULTRADIRE!
Why bring 8 Autocannon when you can bring 12?
What's that you say? Jam Chance? You don't care, worst jamming ever happened to current drivers is 4 at most, usualy 1-2 on average. With 1-2 jammed, you still have the firepower of 8 or 10 ACs throwing lead downrange into the faces of your enemies.
Besides those 8 cAC2 builds are always chain firing. With 8 more DHS, you can group fire away and out DPS those suckers. You can fit those DHS plus ECM plus a Jump Jet since you carry 2 less cAC type weapons allowing 10 more tons of stuff. The DHS do provide extra padding a bit when you are getting shot at too."

"Want more ammo? Remove a DHS or two for it.
Want a few lasers in case you run out? Remove a DHS or two for some cERSLs or cMicro Pulses."

"Why look at this satisfied customer. This 53 year old geezer
fogey
fart
finely aged player who is not even comp type used to suck with any Dire Wolf build he tried. Since using a UltraDire, his stats are going up and usually does enough damage to pull his weight. Below you can see his best match yet and this was only with 15 nodes in the Mobility tree and an extra Consumable slot. He also stared down and outtraded not 1 but 2 of those octo-cAC2 Ultraviolets killing both plus a Catapult and throwing buckets of lead into 9 other Mechs."

Wildstreak: "What did you call me?!?!?"

Salesman: "Shh! Guys escort him to the back office."

"As I was saying, if he can do that, obviously you whippersnapers
brats
punks
energetic young competitive pilots can do better, amirite?"

"So come on down to Boneyard Mech Sales, and build yourself an UltraDire today! Enjoy the thrill of putting on your Dakka pants and shouting, "IDGAF!" as you too throw buckets of lead downrange. Just watch our promotional video of an UltraDire shooting, we would show you from the front but there is so much flash and smoke you cannot see anything of the Mech except feet."

(PS - I did try this build with 2 and 3 cERML, I could only get 2-3 laser volleys off then I would need serious cool off time. Even with 5-6 DHS, the cUAC2s creep up the heat scale throw in laser heat and it is too much. This is why if you want lasers I recommend only cERSL or cMiPL.
Maybe there was a reason no one ever used this but I do not see it now.
This was also the camo I used without Elementals that in the same Bog match people thought I was a Gold Mech for a full minute.)

Throw a ton of ammo in the head. Also, if you are using only a single ballistic in the arm one of the other pods has an armour quirk. I forget which one. Only other thing with this build is the Rifleman IIC can also do it with a smaller profile, although it probably lacks the sustain.

So a couple of notes after taking this out for a swing in the Testing Grounds:

-The 8x cAC/2 Ultraviolet is popular because it's reliable. It has 22 DPS on tap without any risk of jams, and while it can't sustain that for nearly as long as your build can sustain its ~16 reliable DPS, it can sustain it for long enough.

-Jams are hurting your damage a whole lot more than you think. I had three separate instances in the one, single, Testing Grounds test I ran where all six cannons jammed at once. Jams on Quack/2s don't last long enough to be game-ending, but they still cut into your burst DPS and force you to stare at your enemy for longer. You're almost always down at least one or two cannons while firing in Horysheet Mode, and that's a significant loss here. You can operate in Reliable Mode by holding down the button rather than clicking as fast as possible, but at that point, yeah - you're a 100-ton Rifleman-IIC.

-This thing goes through ammo like PBRs through a trailer park. I didn't have enough ammunition to clear the 7 'Mechs I normally use as my test run. You'll put ten tons of ammo in this thing and think "sweet, I'm covered!" No. No you're not. Don't miss, you can't afford it.

That said, this is a workable alternative to the eight AC/2 Ultraviolet Whale. That single remaining Charlie jet does nobody any good, but the ECM helps. Put your ammo in the torso, not the arms, and switch to the S/A arms to get some free armor, and realize the UV Whales are still gonna beat you, but if you want a Charlie with a mess of autocannons and don't want to spend seventy bucks on an Ultraviolet? This'll work.

The RT (Right Torso) of DWF-W has one (1) ballistic hardpoint, and +15 armor quirk.
But you need to use Dire Wolf UV arm to keep your UAC count back up to 6 (or 7) UAC2 build.

But that's the OP's point, he's trying not to buy the Dire Wolf UV for its two arms.
And without buying DWF-UV, OP's six (6) UAC2 build is the maximum possible.

If OP wants to have even more fun, try swapping out some DHS for a big Targeting Computer (TC) of your choice!
Increased Velocity from Skill nodes + TC is a fun build; watch even light mechs run away with their proverbial tail between its legs when you target them from afar! It's not meta, but it's fun :)

I can agree with this i run an Annihilator with the same loadout and the thing just wrecks.. never underestimate 12 damage in (almost) a per sec basis..

Now that I have taken time off since finishing the event, thanks for replies, some responses.

Rifleman-IIC-2
Usually I see these running either 6cAC2 or 6cLBX2 in Chain Fire just like the 8cAC2 UV Chain Fires every time, I never see them Group Fire. Figure this is to manage heat since they have so little in bonus DHS.
I am always Group Firing so in the time one of those builds shoots a single shot for 2 damage, I am usually hitting for 4-12 damage based on number jammed thus out-DPSing them.
They could Group Fire but without the extra DHS, they spike up sooner.
BTW if you complain about my ammo amount, that Rifleman using 6cUAC2 has less so further disproves that point.

Single Jump Jet
Still so many Mechs JJ capable recommend at least 1 to clear low obstacles you can get stuck on, I have found some spots where it also helps climbing ability a bit faster.

Jams
Nope, I have never had all 6 jam on me, worst has ever been 4 at once, never 5 or 6. Not saying it cannot happen but the odds are low and I played this build over at least 12 matches plus a few Testing sessions with and without Lasers compared to one test session. You must have just been unlucky.

I could see dropping DHS for more ammo or as I mentioned cERSL / cMiPL once more nodes are unlocked including ones that help deal with heat. Right now I am only at about 33 nodes with half in Mobility because like some Mechs it needs that most. Don't have the fictional CB funds to just throw general XP into easy node unlocks, still have at least one Mech not modified yet plus others sometime to change builds for due to full node unlocks or changes since last used.

I have no idea where 22DPS comes from for 8cAC2s.

Torso ammo is a terrible idea. Torsos typically get shot off more than arms, even with CASE ammo in torsos just helps the opposing team. I am never putting ammo there ever. Even the Dire, I get shot in the 3 torsos areas way more than the arms. That is also why I do not fuss about different arms for more armor, I do not really lose them and when all 91 nodes are open, I can put Lasers in arms something that cannot be done with the other Ballistic arms including the Ultraviolet.

This has been the only build out of several that has not only worked and improved stats, majority of the time if I see an Assault or Heavy and start shooting, they usually back off. Whether they stay to fight or come back, the UltraDire has produced results over 24 matches majority of the time still having about one third or less nodes unlocked.

Your math is off. CUAC2 doesn't give you double the firepower, especially not in sustained engagements. Your peak output is that of 11 AC2s, yes. However, in sustained engagements and factoring in weapon jams your net DPS averages only ~17% more than a CAC2, giving you the output of 7 AC2s

They're not.

Chainfiring AC2s is a player error.

From weapon damage (2) divided by cooldown (.72) and multiplied by the number of weapons (8). With full cooldown nodes it's actually 24.582 DPS, by the way.
