Don't You Fear That

I've been sending information to tantalize my old MWO friends and RL friends to return to MWO and so far about 7 or so are playing again. The addition of 4 mans in soup queue (and 2 mans not going against 12mans) has really helped.
Thank you.

Do enjoy this heavily changed MWO!
I thought I got the MWO stuff under my belt after 1 year of playing upon returning...
But now with all these Cauldron changes post April'2021 (and maps too!), it feels like an entirely new game to me now, with lots of exploring to do!

lol i have zero worry people will return to any level above what we have now.. Everything they have done up to now has been done before. Nothing is new.
I would loved to be proved wrong. I would love to see a game changer done.

LOL, no. Been heading in the opposite direction from what I see. Even with the last two months of both large scale changes, and significant drop in Steam charts of MW5 players. Something we were told meant players would return from when they got bored.

I don't expect this game to rebuild all the bridges it decided to burn but I am very happy with the results so far of The Cauldron and map expert.
I just wish this had been done back in 2014 instead of 2021.
It just is wishful thinking and I did talk some friends into doing a few of the events. A couple bought the TBR DWF pack.
Which is massive because these were "I am never opening my wallet again" people.
Just massive within the people I'm in touch with, because no one I know, was going to spend any money again.

I agree in the advertising aspect. Some more wouldn't hurt, along with new Players getting some Packs cheaper and all that. This Game still ist Superior to most of those n vs m Arenashooter Games and the Community for the most Part is way less toxic than in most of these Games. Which is a huge plus.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but im'ma rain a little... "Less toxic" is part of the problem.
Sure TKs and friendly fire is bad, and should be punished with much more c-bills than it is. But banning adults for bad words? C'mon now. Smack talk is fun. People play games for fun. Being afraid to speak in game for fear of hurting someone's fee-fee's has driven a lot of players away.
Some of ya'll should go try some Rust and just let loose. It's cathartic.
Rust is just as old, and has an incredibly large player base, that shows no sign of shrinking. The land of the free.

TBH I don't like swearing and hating by people I never met. I suppose most people don't. Keeping it civilized is good.

Well, my fellow Mech-driving people, it so happens that there are things which we all need to consider for. At the current point in time when we're talking about this, various schools around the world are all resuming their in-person learning, and various workplaces are forcing their employees to come back into an on-site type of operation. That – in and of itself – will automatically result in there being a bit less people online, causing active MWO population to subsequently drop and therefore making it a lot harder to get new people into the mix, as well as form a Match for anyone to actually play.

Along with that, our beloved MWO is currently incapable in its' current internal design of catering to multiple kinds of crowds with disabilities of one kind or another. In example, such as issues with seeing and/or with being able to move one's real body... Even if they do have a fast mind that would like to play anyway. Between the above paragraph and this, that leaves only a decreased fraction of people which are either minorly or not afflicted who are targeted to be introduced to playing MWO at all. Unfortunately, as I have learned over the years, getting a quote-unquote "completely normal person" to come play something like MWO can end up being like leading a horse to water which then refuses to drink because it can smell that another horse died in it. But hey, that may just boil down to my own horrid luck, or that not every normal person out there wants to clomp a giant mechanized robotic weapons platform around which drives like a tank.

Rather not punish the many, because the few refuse to be civilised. Too be fair, i rarely see swearing and insults tend to be mild-moderate and usually done out of frustration (mostly due to people not listening and doing their own thing, especially when it makes sense).
While i dont see MWO becoming any more successful than it is, maybe they should try MWO 2 with Cryengine 5 or Unreal 5? And take on board the lessons they learnt here?

I don't really think that would be possible. Faction battle ques are long enough as it is. There aren't enough people to support a galaxy-wide system where you can individually pick and attack planets. It works in roguetech because it's purely AI opponents you are facing, so you can go wherever and never wait in que (except for the long loading times)
