@Kiran Yagami *It's a total lie that snipers can only be countered by other snipers. The counter is getting close to them and out DPSing them, and that happens all the time. You either need to push in overwhelming numbers or take a route that isn't being covered. The problem is, the MWO player base refuses to play maps any differently. They have one way of running across the map, and if that avenue is closed to them by enemy sniper fire they pretty much shut down. "Potato.exe has stopped working". The answer is, do something different. Find a different route. Go a different way. Use parts of the map that normally go unutilized.*

I guess you missed my point. Yes, you can walk up to a Sniper and engage it, just like you can walk up to an LRM boat and engage it. But you're probably gonna get shot by said sniper and lurmer. But if you're, for example, a sniper, and you're shooting at a mech standing 1200m away, there is no other mech type, except another sniper, that can return fire, not even a lurmer. How is that fair? How is that different from a lurmer shooting you with IDF, when you can't return fire without moving closer? Lurmers were nerfed to medium range for having that ability. Snipers were rewarded for having that ability with even greater range and lowered heat penalties.

How is that fair?

when you go only with a Knife to a Shootout ,its you own Blame...the Game is not designed for your Special Wishes or Playstyles, when you not can fight and Hit on Range or Handycaped , find covered way to come in the Range for your Weapons or search other Games ...or play Solaris for example.`m very sorry thats the other Players not helps for your Autowin and hats mWO is not like Chess

I don't really have a problem with snipers, but QP has always been about guessing what your teammates are likely to do and synergizing with that. Skirmishers are decent because they are almost always useful, while more extreme builds rely on the team to put them in the right spot. A brawler can't really do much on a long-range game. A sniper can't really do much when the rest of the team is pushing hard / rotating.

Sometimes you get the right team and can have an amazing match as a brawler or sniper where your teammate's builds and play style works well together like having a really deadly long range firing line. Other times you've got mismatched builds or teammates that are straight up unwilling to be flexible, turning their teammates into fodder rather than working with them.

As far as being their victim. The above stuff all plays its part but on the enemy team. Sometimes a sniper is not a big deal because their team has left them high and dry. Other times, the enemy team is in a good spot and their sniper can just keep putting damage out unabated. Of course, my own ability to respond is also dictated by my build. If I'm a clan skirmisher, I can probably LPL back at them and they won't like it unless it's an extremely long range. If I'm a brawler, all I can do is let other people know, reposition, and allow the match to develop while avoiding needlessly losing armor.

I don't hate snipers. I don't care for the current long range meta, I also don't give people crap for playing how they like. A lot of this would be solved by allowing us to choose our mech AFTER the map choice.

Irony being there would be even more long range play in that situation. Just look at FP.
