The miniature actually looks quiet good.
But adding this mech would disrupt their mech feed, as they already have second heavy. And they mentioned Centurion in these reports long ago and he is still "neverseen".
Oh I'm not expecting this one to be an "on release" mech. It is a 3055 model. It's just one of my faves, and I'm happy to see it mentioned.

I thought IS News states it is 3048 and the mech is unveiled. Is that model a different variant?

I'm sure this mech is from the 3055 sourcebook....though I'm old school, things might have changed....either that or the mech is being tested in 3048 only to make production post 3050. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if it were released before 3055.

You are correct; sort of....
Technical Readout 3055
The tempest was actually designed before the start of the Clan invasion into the Inner Sphere. At that time it mounted two PPCs as its main weaponry. With the advent of new kinds of weaponry, the design was reworked.

Good point about the cost, even, as the devs have said, all mechs are available to all players doesn't mean we will be able to afford the one we want right a way.
I would drive this one, I like Gauss rifles, and everyone that doesn't know that the "beehive" is not my cockpit....keep shooting at it

Agreed. Good loadout. Besides even if it remains ugly, you'll be in the cockpit and won't have to look at it.

They even have similar load-outs.
I'm looking forward to what they can do to aesthetically refresh this old bruiser.

Good punch/range with the Gauss, good anti-light with the large pulse, and great at finishing with the 3 Medium lasers and SRM 6. It's got good armor and moves alright in areas of thick terrain. Good all around design. The pic from the 3055 readout book wasn't that bad...neither was the mini.
I'm shocked, the mini looks way better than the drawing did. Still... interesting to look at though.
