There is not a really good way to tell someone that their wrong, so to be blunt and quick this statement lacks fundamental understanding how larger game companies work. (sorry to be mean)
like almost every mid-big company out there, PGI has teams that work on different projects at a time to put more products on the shelves (digital shelves in this case), and while it's common for specific personal to jump between projects and teams, for the most part resources (be it large dev teams or money/budget) are allotted to a project and tend to stay until used up or until the project is deemed done. That means and time or money spent on MW5 was likely never to see MWO in the first place.
as PGI stands right now they stated that the bulk of the devs are on MW5 atm, and they are making more content and patches for MW5. however what MWO does have right now is a budget to get outsource help (which they have already done and the outside help is setting up rn) so in time MWO will have devs behind it again.
any future content for MW5 is not at the cost of MWO, the time and effort for MW5 was never MWO's in the first place.

think of it the other way. if people who dont know about bt/mw play that game, and decide they want more, we might get more players in mwo.

I just wished PGI didn't tried to hide MWO from the public as much as they do. Like... there is nothing in MW5 game or website pointing towards the PvP experience that is currently MWO.
I'm pretty sure MWO players already know about MW5 and probably all have the game, yet there is a lot of advertisement for MW5 here in mwomercs, and not the other way around.
On the main menu of MW5 there is a small scrolling widget on the bottom right pointing to patch notes and mission creation tutorial links... you could put a small note there as an additional scrolling panel pointing to MWO as well for people looking for PvP experience.

100% Navid A1... I was one of those fresh peices of meat March last year. Played MW5 for several hundred hours, went back and played MW3-4 etc for the thousanth time then decided why not have a try at MWO.. I had never played online shooters before (which was the biggest hurdle) and now I have 170 mechs and enjoy playing it every day.
How do people go playing MW5 with a gamepad? I can't imagine playing it with anything other than a mouse and keyboard.

I'm not sure if you've been paying attention, but they've been trying to do that too.

Hopefully some cross marketing with MWO too...
Buy the top tier DLC package for MW5 on Playstation, and you also get a few Special (S) Mechs in MWO too

Can we change the logo to "MechWarrior Online instead"?
